A Fist of the North Star reference? This show just gained my respect.

Brother E

I REALLY hate White Hood! He ticks me off the most in this show including the Snobbish Principal. This White Hood guy is another little bitch like Spandex from One Piece. I can’t stand him

Dear Penthouse Forum, I never thought it could happen to me... A little fun bit of trivia Kayano is voiced by Monica Rial the same voice actress who voices Stocking from Panty and Stocking. So she's pretty much been typecast as a pudding-loving freak. P.S. I'm guessing he can't tunnel because they covered it with Anti-sensei plastic as well. Either that or the writer goofed.

Or he was startled at first by the change of environment and then attacked by itona, leaving him no time to dig.

For Curtis or any other anime only watcher who are interested in hearing about something that got skipped over in the anime, I'll leave this here since it's a fairly interesting little story. But it does drag on a bit since I'm effectively summarizing a four chapter arc, so apologies for the length. After they returned from the island, the Principal approached Takebayashi (Stereotypical nerd guy) about returning to the main campus and leaving E-Class. Takebayashi was having difficulties in assassinations, as he wasn't particularly skilled with weapons, and so was largely relegated to support, meaning he didn't have a realistic chance at the 10 Billion bounty. By giving up on the bounty, he would be able to regain the pride of his family, who'd been incredibly disappointed when he let his grades fall into E-Class. Because the support of his family meant more to him then a chance at 1 billlion (his own estimate for the absolute max he could have earned by supporting the others), he accepted the Principal's offer to join A-class. He was welcomed back as a hero who'd managed to scrounge his way out of the hell of E-Class and back to civilization. E-class was disappointed to hear this, but largely accepted his decision, with Korosensei making it a point to make sure he was fitting back in on the main campus. Well, on his first day of classes, as everyone warned him to be careful not to fall behind since the teachers don't mess around, Takebayashi is stunned that the entire class is struggling with something Korosensei had taught them to perfection the semester before. After a few days, the principal's son calls him into the principal's office where they lay out a proposal for him. At the school's founding anniversary, Takebayashi would make a speech effectively shitting on all of E-Class as nothing more the insect's squandering their potential before saying that, since he was once among them, he knew they could still be saved and ends with a request to allow him the privilege of leading a committee dedicated to reforming them into the model students that everyone on the main campus could be proud of. Doing this would not only show his parents how serious he was about reforming, it would also look incredibly appealing on college applications, and the principal would be only too happy to write a glowing letter of recommendation for someone who aided him in prove his ‘educational philosophy’. All it would cost him are the friends he made in E-class and he’d basically be set for life. He agrees to carry out the plan despite his own feelings on the matter, and on the way home, Korosensei imparts some wisdom into him. Changing who he is is a part of growing up, but only if he’s changing for himself. Changing for others is just killing yourself one lie at a time. On the day of the school’s anniversary, Takebayashi takes the stage, callling E-Class a gathering of the weak, before adding with a smile that he’s more at home among them then even at the maid cafes he so loves to frequent. For several minutes, he explains his true feelings, ending it with an admission that it may have been the right move for the main campus to value being strong so much, but he’d be weak for at least a little while long. Naturally, while all of this was happening, the Principal ordered he be removed from the stage for his actions, and as Asano attempts to do as his father ordered, Takebayashi pulls out one of the awards that the principal had won at some point in time prior. You see, Asano had mentioned that someone had, in the past, intentionally broke one of his possessions and was immediately sent to E-Class. So Takabayashi did the exactly same thing and went there of his own accord. E-class is in the middle of Mr. Karasuma explaining that they’d now be able to utilize explosives in their assassination attempts, but only if approved by himself and supervised by a student who’d thoroughly memorized the field manual for plastic explosives, and no one wants to read the entire 500 page book. So Takebayashi just walked onto the field, takes the book out of Karasuma’s hand and says that he’ll turn it into an anime outro parody and have it memorized in no time. Cue the entire class glad to have their nerd back while the school administration is furious their efforts ended in failure so spectacularly. So yeah, long story short, the reason that Korosensei address Takebayashi in particular about addressing the smell of the explosives was because Takebayashi is now THE explosive guy in 3-E.
