It’s great to see that you’re enjoying this arc. I think a lot of people dislike this one is because the intensity and severity of the arc isn’t taken as serious as others. I do enjoy this arc myself as well because it’s light hearted and as soon as we finish this arc at 227 that’s when the story begins to play with your emotions and string at your heart. So this Davy Back arc is a nice arc to prepare for your emotions to be smashed next arc.

I wish to say, that you'll want to watch episode 226. It is the filler/canon mix, not 227 which is pure canon. If you don't want to miss the introduction of an important canon character I suggest watching the episode.

The thing for me is that I actually really like the Davey Back fight in the manga, I just feel like the anime took a heaving shit on it.
