As I pointed out earlier, Koichi is meant to be Araki’s take on Gohan. Echoes (or Reverb as it’s called here) is designed after Cell. It even has three forms. The anime gives act 3 a white color scheme so it kinda looks more like Freeza, but if it’s green (like in some manga panels) it looks a lot like Perfect Cell. Koichi’s hair was often yellow in the manga, too.

I've seen some people not like act 3 since it ditches the whole word gimmicks, but I saw this somewhere and liked it. Act 1: sound of your words Act 2: effect of your words Act 3: weight of your words
