It was the manner of which Yusuke's possessor was killing him. It was out of nothing more than malice and cruelty as opposed to Yusuke doing it out of a sense of protecting those he cares for and the world at large.

ChubbyDuckling2

I never actually considered til now why Hiei didn't want to remain in Demon world after the fight but completely forgot he ends up taking a nap after the fight and never gets the chance to make that call.

GoldArthur

The point of diving into Sensui's psyche is not to justify him, but, rather, to understand why he was so broken, so that they could prevent the same thing from happening again, and as a lesson for Yusuke to avoid that binary way of thinking. Each major villain acts acts as an anti-rolemodel for Yusuke, showing him through negative example, how to be a better person.

GoldArthur

In other words, he was left unfulfilled. Yusuke even gave up on stopping the tunnel just so that he could defeat Sensui, yet he still wasn't even able to do that.

Denickart

Yusukes ancestor is Demon King Piccolo?

flameenforcer619

The thing with this whole Sensui plot is that he technically won and got everything he asked for. He managed to open the tunnel, he cut the barrier, and he was killed in demon world by what he saw as "justice" aka a human/demon hybrid. And, as a result, his seven personalities unified. All of his goals were completed. He even managed to kill the main character of the series, that barely ever happens in these shows. So, technically he did win in the end. He even managed to get out of being judged for his crimes cause his friend/lover managed to get him out of spirit world's grasp. And who knows what they'll be doing in that other dimension for all eternity O_O

Yup, I get that... It still bears, to me, discussing if a character's past justifies their actions.

That beatdown is certainly one of the most brutal one-sided legendary matches of my Anime memory. Your desire to see Sensui’s smug face smacked around has to have been fulfilled! 😁

Rest in peace Sensui, or rather, you could if you didn't have green hair diddling you for all eternity. Perhaps he was punished in the end for his actions I guess.

It’s actually great to see Hiei change from a self-centered demon to someone who starts to trust others and care for them. You can easily see subtle changes throughout the show but near the end of the Chapter Black Arc it really manifests his change!

Brother E

Interesting theory that has been around for years is that Sensui was dying to do being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Since he (his female personality/the poet) was in an relationship with Itsuki & implied that they already made love to each other. And as I recall this arc was being written during the mid 90s when AIDS were at its peak. So it would make sense that Togashi would get inspiration from these events for writing into the story.

seeing a good head but reminds me of my second school fight. In high school a bully took my hat & tried to hit me with his fist in the back. It was slow enough that I walked forward & turned around to ketch his fists as he punched again & holed his hands & that was my first head but in a real fight.

I like Xvirus, it only updates when I open it or B4 it scans a file, don't know if it is as good as norten but with the fire wall I have too it seems to do all I need

The actual name of Yusuke's demon ancestor haven't been revealed yet. We only know what type of demon he is, a mozoku.

DeFlow

So now that were done with Sensui as a villain how do you think he compares to Toguro? Not who's stronger we already know but which was the better villain? Also when you think about it Yusuke technically followed Toguro's footsteps, he was a human that became a demon although Yusuke didn't have a choice.

But Yusuke was also never fully human in the first place like Toguro was.

This chapter also ends on a Saturday which is perfect when Monday we start the next one

Oof Togashi sure does like his one sided beatdowns I can only imagine the rest of the pitou fight we didn't see was essentially this its pretty crazy tho I'm only just now seeing all the inspiration taken from yuyu into other anime

Companies like Norton or Macafee are notorious being pain in the ass software. I personally use Malwarebytes Premium and as long as you keep it up to date it's rarely an issue on any front. It's $40 for a yearly license. I also have a another anti-virus called Roguekiller. It only ever runs when you open it manually. So if I feel like somethings up with my computer I'll first have Malwarebytes run a full scan and then Roguekiller just to have some diversity. The upside is (IMO) I rarely ever have to do this, since the point of Malwarebytes Premium is active protection while browsing vs the free version of it which only scans. Apologies for the light novel, but just thought I'd share what I use and my experience with it if you were looking to maybe dump Norton for something else.

I love that feral jumping stomp into the stomach move. Really fits the demon idea.

There is something I really liked about Shinobu. I'd really love to see a modern take of this anime similar to how Hunter x Hunter 2011 rolled out. To see a modern Toguro and Sensui would be fantastic.
