WTF?! I didn't see this coming! I thought for sure somebody was going to be able to come in at the last moment and prevent Father Furby from pulling this off, but it didn't happen! It seems that Greed was our last chance, and now I have absolutely NO idea where things go from here!

FATHER HAS PULLED IT OFF!... IT'S OVER?! - FMAB #60

fuck.

This is so much more intense than the infinite tsukiyomi for me. and ps. I'm pretty sure Al would've ended up back in Father's den even if he took his body back, so regardless he would've facilitated the plan.

Everyone dies. End of story.. lol where's naruto when you need him!

These episodes were kind of weak. We don't know anything about father so they can do whatever they want with him. Kill everyone, resurrect everyone, whatever. The whole show felt really good, but these episode are the least reaction worthy for me (because it's the same reaction - what do we do now?). Ep62 and after are great. Maybe it's just me, but I really didn't like the whole father thing...

GoldArthur

Hey Curtis, if you pay close attention when Father is absorbing "God", notice how he displays each one of the seven deadly sins in that short scene despite CLAIMING to have separated them from himself. Just goes to show that they are an inherent part of life no matter what.

Anonymous

I'm surprised you still called Pride "Selim".

Matsumoto Erkin

I did't like these episodes either when I first watched it. But now when I think back about the whole father thing, this kind of reminds me a sufism story called " The conference of the birds" and a tale about someone who seeked freedom ,someone who didn't want to be trapped in the flask, someone who didn't want to be limited as being of human -so he removed his deven deadly sins, still find him self not free, being restricted by the rules of the universe or god. And the ending really like the ending of "The conference of the birds". when I think about this , this kind of make a sense, especially the dephth of these episodes. By te way, are you from central asia? your name looks like that

The concept of devouring God is stunning to me. It's hard to really understand, but I feel like this is what some deeply wounded people want. And sacrificing a gigantic number of innocent people, Father is in fact commiting an act of SELF-destruction. It actually took me years only to begin to understand this philosophy... Hey, I want to ask you people for an opinion. Why do you think Truth should always be so smug and evil looking? There should be a meaning behind it too.

invo

Curtis, by your reaction I'm not sure if you understand what Scar did there: before he was only deconstructing with his right arm and he was convicted to never use construction (as he said, it's only Gods work). But as he said himself, knowing how much is at stake - he accepted the left arm - arm of reconstruction. Now he can do alchemy like Ed and Al, something that he swore to never do before. This shows how Scar really grew as a character. And he's also a total badass.

SpazBoysComedy

I'm not sure why that would be surprising. He is still utilizing the leather bag known as Selim.

SpazBoysComedy

Yea, I'm not sure where the confusion about me understanding it comes from. Scar said specifically what he had done by using the other arm his brother had provided. Not much room for misinterpretation. :-D

You'd have to define evil first. He's smug because he's all-knowing. People are often smug when they know more than another person. "It's equivalent exchange, right young alchemist?" He plays with Ed, toying with the fact that Ed thinks he knows something about nature's laws when really Truth knows much better. What do you mean deeply wounded people want to devour God? Father expressed his true motivations just before his ultimate demise. "I just wanted to know! What's wrong with seeking perfection?" His crime was constantly striving to be better, stronger, smarter, more perfect. Hardly an evil or unholy motivation. We all sympathised when he said, "I think I'd be happy if I could just leave this flask..." because we all know that feeling. Contained; be it by weakness, stupidity, imperfection. There are many kinds of flasks that restrain us. Father wanted to escape all flasks. Even the flask of God's will. "I will no longer be bound to you or your consequences!" Freedom is what he wanted. Freedom through perfection. Whereas Ed found the "right answer." "Who needs alchemy when I have them?" It's not about escaping flasks, be they glass or God. It's about living life for other people, together creating a life worth living. That is more valuable than immortality or any freedom. I wouldn't be so keen on this philosophy if I were you. Most of its messages about family and kinship are great, but this philosophy can easily justify surrender to the will of higher powers ala Islam. Valuing love above all else is great, but it's not wrong to escape your flasks.

What the freeze guy alchemist in the first episode couldn't do father did in this almost last episode. I mean come on what's the difference between freeze guy and father 😐 oh and Curtis I think nothing is worse than the infinite tsukyomi (at least in my opinion) Finally what is that big grey eye? Is it god or truth? And why is father trying to fuse with it is he trying to challenge god or truth or become god or truth? There still so many questions left unanswered

invo

Can someone explain on the Freezer guy? Why did Bradley stopped him? Freezer was working with Lust/Gluttony, so he was working for Father for sure. After watching the whole series I still don't understand what's with Freezer. Was he bad? Was he good? Who was he working for? What did he want to achieve?

Koala Banana

I've still yet to see anyone notice Scar's usage of reconstruction. They should have mentioned once again that Scar only deconstructs before this episode.

Curtis was so shocked he felt compelled to start singing.

"Anything you might happen to desire, I can assure you I desired it first" This line is another one to keep in mind for the coming episodes.

Phillip Ribbink

"Is this one of those anime where the good guys don't triumph?" No Curtis you're thinking of the 1997 version of Berserk.

Hahaha my dad says Hassan Chop all the time xD

"If the only word you can muster for him is God, then you must worship him so. But if he is not, you must fight for the life he aims to control."

Anonymous

Yeah you made it to the end. 61-64 is just Father dancing on everyone’s grave

Daniel Gonzalez

Yup this is the end Curtis it was a great ride while it lasted pay no attention to the remaining episodes it's done deal this situation can't be reversed

SpazBoysComedy

The point was I was surprised that things unfolded like this, in that I thought Father would be stopped prior to achieving his goal... However if the preference is to discuss things with obnoxious sarcasm I am perfectly comfortable with that conversation.

Anonymous

I'm just imagining Father do the dance that Les Grossman does at the end of Tropic Thunder.

Anonymous

Seems like Fathers character has changed after he got rid of the Hoienhiem meat bag,he was really calm and collected before, but now he seems like a sadistic maniac
