Mustang killed Ross?! It certainly appears that way, but something is nagging at me, saying that Mustang actually worked something... Of course, that "something" that's nagging me could just be that I don't want Ross dead, but hopefully I'm at least partially right.

I think Envy’s attempt to throw Mustang off their trail just shows how little it and the others understand humans. If anything it just pissed off Mustang more cause he still knows something stinks in Central.

Curtis, what I am about to say may sound bad and may portray me as a jerk, but you have to understand that mustang is a soldier. He did what he did to Ross for two reasons 1. He was ordered to shoot or kill her if he caught her that was an order from his superior officer or maybe Bradley himself and like a good soldier he followed that order because that's what a true soldier does follows orders without questioning and 2. He did it because all in all he thinks that it was Ross who killed Hughes yes he could have waited for a deeper investigation but he was (I believe) still upset and grieving and her breaking out of prison, and the superior giving that order to kill her if she resist, gave him the opportunity to enact his vengeance and kill the "murderer" of his friend Hughes without any repercussions. This also shows that Armstrong is a good soldier because you can clearly see that he wanted to beat the crap out of mustang but he didn't because he knew of the order. I know it's harsh but it's the truth. Sorry about this long comment by the way

Unfortunately for poor innocent Ross, when you live in a country that is a bit of a military dictatorship whose leader is a "no fucks given" type like Bradley (and the other homunculi), the justice system ain't going to be particularly fair or just.

Bullshit that tiny pistol can hold a .45, I mean it's possible but not enough bullets for it to be an effective sidearm. Civilian Self-Defence weapon maybe.

This story's setting is set around 1923 Germany. So basically you follow orders and don't ask ANY questions. Dogs of the military headed by the Fuhrer

When I first saw this, it was heartbreaking that Mustang was so consumed with grief over Hughes' death that he'd blindly kill Ross. And I loved Armstrong's "apology": the look of rage on his face perfectly conveyed "if I wasn't such a professional, I'd tear you in half, Mustang".
