Random humping dogs during segues is a true sign of genius as far as I'm concerned! :-D I gotta say, I had no idea that there was this much humor within this series. This was some funny shit! Mako's family - especially her mom - are awesome!

Something interesting to note is that Ryuko somewhat inverts the expectations of the hero. She appears at the school causing disruption, and when she is about to lose she runs away it's similar to the way a villain would in old cartoons, in a flash of smoke or in a speedy get away vehicle. Saying things like "Mark my words, I'll be back". While still being the hero and having a good reason for her actions. Another thing to note is more obvious but it ties into this Early theme in the series of subverting what a normal "pure" protagonist looks like vs the villain.

I'm glad you're finally getting to see this great series! When you finish, another series you'd like by the same studio as Kill La Kill and Gurren Lagann is Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. It's short, only 13 episodes, but it's a lot of fun. To give you an idea of what type of show PSG is: when Gurren Lagann had finished its run, the team went for vacation in Hawaii and came up with the idea while super drunk. See, a bunch of new rules were soon to take effect in Japan, and so they made PSG as a way to work in everything that would soon be against the rules, as well as thumb their noses at the censors. I doubt you'll get to it anytime soon, but when you get around to it you wont be disappointed.

Okay cracking down on this before it becomes a thing. Mako's "sister" Mataro is a boy, he's actually her brother. I know it doesn't look like it. But trust me he's a dude.

even if you dont react to it in dub,you should check it out in your free time.sasuki especially has far superior delivery of better worded dialogue. i love when shes says "you pigs in human clothing" in the dub

I disagree. In terms of sexuality, Highschool DxD is hot as hell and tops Kill la Kill in fanservice. In terms of sex and violence, Highschool of the Dead is also very high up there. Finally speaking, Prison school is pretty hot in sexuality but also massively kinky. Not that Kill la Kill isn't great. I just don't think it's the "best" fanservice series he's watched so far. Top 5.
