After an insanely brutal battle that ultimately saved the rest of the party, Frieren does what Frieren is wont to do!... Damn mimics!

Ubel fans: "I can fix her." Ubel fans get cut in half. Ubel has the potential to basically be an all powerful mage. She can copy magic without even understanding how the magic works and can do things that go beyond common sense. However, her mindset which allows her do do those is also her limitation, meaning she can lose against opponents who are objectively weaker than her. She's a complete wildcard.

Some guy named Chris

“It’s been about 80 years since I was last forced to use that” she says. Meaning last time she was forced to push it that hard was when she fought the Demon King himself. Damn. Also, the look on clone Frierens face after she got blasted by Fern, chilling as hell.

How much faster would have the fight against clone-Frieren been if they had a mimic to put on that room? 🤣🤣

I feel like mimic plot point has to pay off eventually. The day Frieren finds that 1% chance Grimoire whatever spell it contains is going to be insanely important

Jarrod Atkins

They say it's a 99% chance it's a mimic based on what the spell detects... I say it's 50-50. Either it's a mimic or it isn't and those are the odds I'll take 😂

out of all the magic we've seen so far I think I probably would want Ubel's the most (outside of flying obviously)... I like the simplicity of her power to just cut anything, it's so simple but broken.

Chandler LaDeau

And thus the only part of this show's magic system that I don't really understand. In the battle of Ubel's "I imagine the cloth can be cut" vs the examiner's "I imagine the cloth can't be cut" Ubel just....wins outright and it's not even close. Why? Why in the duel between ultimate belief that a thing can happen vs ultimate belief that it can't, defense just gets squashed? And what is the limit of imagination? If I was a mage that didn't even know that defensive magic was bad at defending against physical attacks, would I be really good at defending against physical attacks just because I believed that it would hard enough even though normally that's not how the spell works?

Max Starr

Hmm. There were *three* mimics in that last treasure room (the other two were disintegrating while Frieren was trapped in the third). Methinks Frieren might be a little bit of a gambling addict...
