They tried their best to come out of the water but Vicky blocked their exit making them die under the suffocation and water pressure using the power of trident.

You don’t have to break the trident to remove the curse.

If it should be broken to remove the curse it is no different from a useless weapon.

Captain Salazar that returned to the living started to fight with jack.

In the mean time Barbossa came over standing on the anchor to save his daughter.
