Hello everyone.

Thanks for using Shoost! Here I would like to share with you a little trick of Shoost.

In Shoost, there are three basic types of Shoost: "Normal", "Diffusion", and "Glow". Each of them has its own characteristics, so I'll introduce you how to use them and how to use them.

Normal Type

The Normal type is the basic screen effect for all. Since it is the basic type, it can be used in any situation. When in doubt, use this type. It works well in bright scenes such as daytime.

Diffusion Type

The Diffusion type reproduces diffused light. It brings in surrounding colors to create a dramatic atmosphere.

Compared to Normal, it has a softer light impression.

Effective scenes include evening scenes, image spaces, fantasy spaces, and hazy spaces such as rain and fog.

Diffusion looks good at first glance because it brings in the surrounding colors and the overall color blends in. However, it also tends to create a blurred impression.

I see many Vtubers streaming using Diffusion. When using Diffusion for streaming, you have to be careful about the bit rate. If you use Diffusion to add a blurry impression to a stream at a lower bitrate, the video will become blurry and blurry. It is better to use Diffusion for different situations than to use Diffusion for everything.

Glow Type

The Glow type expresses luminescence. It does not brighten the background, but rather creates a luminous atmosphere.

Effective scenes for Glow include spaces with luminous objects such as neon or lighting, and spaces with strong light such as backlighting.

On a black background, the text is simply written with thin lines, but it looks good when luminous. It is better to draw with thin lines instead of thick lines, so that the letters look better when they emit light.

When the Exposure Background parameter is used to lighten the background, the Normal type only makes the background white, while the Glow type adds a little background color to the outline of the character and looks beautiful.

On the other hand, if the background is not clearly dark or light, or if luminous expressions are added to the background, details will be destroyed.

Since the effect of light is added to an image that originally contains a luminous expression, details will be destroyed.

When using Glow, it is best to use a simple background with clear light and dark areas.

Thank you very much for the explanation! Is Glow currently possible for backgrounds only, or is there a way to use it on Layer 2 or Layer 1 too? (for example, for shiny neon glowsticks during the stage perfomance)
