 Chapter 3

“And once we got you inside, you haven’t left since.” Karen said, her voice was soft as she finished the story. Emily was in complete shock; her mouth was wide open. She just sat there, diaper still very messy, as she processed what she was just told. Emily’s mind drifted for a second to the fact that she was still in the soiled diaper. For some reason, it didn’t bother her as much as it did when she first “woke up”. She felt strange knowing that she didn’t care, “Must be from all this shock, maybe a messy diaper is the last thing to worry about right now?” She questioned her mind, but that didn’t seem quite right, she clenched the red crocodile around her chest tighter.

“This just seems crazy, I don’t remember doing any of that!” Emily said, as she shifted her seat. She brought her hand back to her forehead. “My head just feels so strange, it just seems that every time my mind tries to focus, something fogs it all up again.” She looked up at Karen and Larry. “Have I really just been a baby like this for the past 8 months?” Her eyes seemed heavy as she looked the two of them in the eyes.

“Yes Honey, we thought you’d be like this forever. We tried searching around town if anyone knew about you, but no one had even heard of you before. Do you remember anything at all before crashing into our yard? Anything at all?” Larry said.

“Well… I mean…” Emily tried wracking her brain as she got up, dropping the crocodile in the processes. She felt her mind clear as she let go of the childish toy. “I… Ugh… No, I can’t really. Everything just seems so foggy; the memories are there but it’s like they’re all blurry or something.” She walked over toward the two of them, her diaper squishing as she did so. Her lackadaisical feel toward the garment shifted toward disgust as she felt the mess moving with her, her face contorted and said, “Can I please get the hell out of this thing? You guys got any sort of regular underwear?” Karen let out a small laugh at Emily’s sudden need to get out of her diaper.

“Em, I don’t think you should be getting into anything that isn’t a diaper or a pull-up any time soon. Even if you seem to have your mind back, you haven’t sat down on a toilet in the past 8 months, and god knows how long before then!” She chuckled to herself, but Emily frowned slightly at her response. She was fucking potty trained before, she was pretty sure. She knew how to get to the damn toilet on time. She thought about making a snappy response back, letting this lady know she can hold it. She decided against it though, these people were her only hope at trying to find her old life.

“Alright, I guess I’ll take the pull-up then…” She said, crossing her arms subconsciously as she did so.

“Well then follow me upstairs dear.” Karen said, as she made her way over the stairs. Emily followed, as she started contemplating her next move.

As they made their way into the changing room, Emily instinctively got onto the changing table. She didn’t even question it in her mind, there was no “Oh I can change myself” from Emily. She flopped right onto the table, and let Karen do all the work as she tried thinking of her next moves. Her legs lifted up and down, without even the slightest realization from Emily. “Alright so I guess I’ll check my car, see if there’s anything in there, maybe I’ll find a note or something.” She popped the pacifier next to her into her mouth. “Then maybe I can look for uh… hmm…” her thoughts began to cloud again as the pacifier picked up in speed around her mouth. “I can look for uh… for toys! Hehe, yeah I can look for those in there!” She started to grin as Karen taped the last tab of Emily’s diaper onto her.

“There Honey! All done! Oh.. you’re sucking on your pacifier…” Karen said, as she tilted her head. Emily ignored that last part, duh of course she was, she knew when she was sucking on something. That’s when she noticed something was wrong around her waist.

“Hey… I though I said a puww up!” Emily said as she lifted herself up from the changing table. She didn’t really seem to care that much though as the words came out of her mouth, she even let out a little giggle around her pacifier at the end of it.

“Oh sorry dear! Must have just been force of habit! Haha I mean, I can’t tell you how many messy diapers I’ve had to change out of you…” Karen said as she walked across the room, throwing Emily’s old diaper into the trash.

“That makes sense” Emily thought to herself as she shrugged, the pacifier falling out of her mouth as she jumped up. “Alright mommy, do you know where my car is? I was thinking I could go look in there for clues.” Emily could feel her mind sharpening out of the fog, as she made her way over to the door way.

“Oh, yeah of course Baby, it’s in the garage. We didn’t take anything out of it, all of things you came with are in there. It should even be unlocked.” Emily winced slightly at the phrase “Baby” but she let it go. She nodded, and bounded her way down the stairs.

There Emily stood in the front yard as the garage door began to open. She didn’t seem to care that much her attire consisted of a T-shirt with the words “Baby Girl” still written across her chest, and nothing around her legs accept a large puffy diaper. She saw her car, the beat-up Toyota and all its glory parked in the middle of two other cars. She made her way over there, as she felt the back of her mind start to strain as shreds of memory come back to her the more she stared at the car.

Images of her swerving around the road, giggling to herself as car after car dodged out of the way of her reckless driving. “Oh God, what in the hell was wrong with me!” She thought, as she made her way to the door. Her hands curved around the handle, and pulled as the door opened with a distinctive creaking noise. “I could have really hurt someone, damn was I on some crazy drugs or something?” She kept thinking, as she started to rummage around the car. She kneeled on her front seat as she started pushing trash around.

Her mind kept reeling as she searched her car. Memories kept trickling back into her as the same thing happened in the front of her diaper. Emily didn’t even slightly notice as the padding around her crotched expanded slightly to the small accident. She moved trash around her floor, looking for anything to tell her what the hell was going on. Her hand brushed up against a jacket, buried in McDonalds bags and random pieces of paper. “Huh? What’s this?” She pulled on the jacket’s arm and hoisted it out of the trash abyss.

Emily turned the jacket over, and stared at the markings in front of her. “P…. I….” Her mind was working overdrive trying to decipher what looked like hieroglyphics in front of her. “P.. I… N.. K? PINK? What is that?” For the life of her she couldn’t recall what in the hell “PINK was, none the less why it was even ON a sweatshirt. “Isn’t that like, the name of a number? Or a color maybe?” She shook her head, “Damn seems like reading took a major hit.” She giggled to herself, but didn’t seem that concerned with the fact her reading skills seemed to have devolved into a kindergartener’s level at best.

She stuck her hand into the front pocket, and felt a piece of paper in the front of it. “Great, more trash…” She thought, as she pulled out a folded piece of paper. The paper was too neatly folded to be trash though; she kneeled onto her continually warming diaper. Her mind registered that it felt warmer than normal, but she immediately dismissed it. She opened the paper, her eyes widening as she started deciphering what was on the page.

“I…F… A…W…A…K…E….” The first line said, she just shook her head and kept ‘reading’, “H..O..M…E… P..U..S…H… G..P..S..” She squinted as hard as she could, smoke practically coming out of her ears as she wracked her mind around this puzzle. “God what… What is this even saying? What is a GPS?” She looked over at the black square looking thing mounted on her windshield. “This thingy?” she mumbled to herself, as she pressed a random button on the side. She jumped as the screen lit up, her diaper appropriately warming in response to Emily’s momentary fright.

“Welcome, GPS autotuned to home, one moment please.” The device said, Emily relaxed as the strange device’s screen showed an hourglass spinning around, signifying the user to wait as it got a signal. “BEEP BEEP” The device sang as it displayed roads around it, “Take a left on Phoenix road, you will reach HOME in approximately 3 minutes.” Emily’s mind started to clear even more, as she started to feel adrenaline around her.

“If awake home push GPS?” She thought to herself, as she started to question her surroundings. “Did I leave this note for myself? Why did I say ‘If awake’?” Her mind started two swirl, “Did these fucking people get me here? Did they make me like this?!” She started to feel panic bubble inside of her. Somewhere, way back in her mind, something told her she might be jumping to conclusions, but she didn’t listen. “These nutcases, they must have just lied to me or something, they probably just made up that bullshit story!” She felt anger start rising in her, “Well Fuck them, they’re not going to fuck with me anymore!” She didn’t even question it in her mind, feeling her body take control, she turned the key in the ignition, closing the driver side door as she settled into her seat. She noticed the garage door that lead into the house open. It was Karen.

“Oh Honey, why don’t you get out of there hmm? You’re in no condition to drive.” Karen said, her voice loud as she tried to talk over the car’s engine. Emily had a smug smile, she was trying to fucking lure her back in. Nu-uh, not going to happen.

“See you BITCH!” She screamed out the window, as she put the car in reverse. She slammed on the gas, flying out of the garage.
