No new STORMWEAVER chapter again today, but for good reason, and I'm gonna work to make it up to you! (Patreon)

Hey all! Unfortunately this is going to be another week san chapter. There are two reasons for this:

  • First, I kinda lost track of my direction because of my inconsistent writing schedule, and had to go back and re-read from the start of Sectionals to make sure I know where I'm going. That's taken all my limited writing time this week, but will be worth it.
  • Second, the Wraithmarked team has spent the last two weeks putting together the pledges from the A Mark of Kings Limited Edition Kickstarter from last year, and that has been... a huge undertaking even with only 600 orders. We're almost done, though, and life returns to normal after we finish shipping those out this coming week!

I know this is disappointing, and I do apologize, but I'm gonna work to make it up to you over the next month, in which I'm gonna try really hard to get back to 1 a week and maybe get an extra chapter in for you! I should also have more frequent art posts up in the coming few weeks for you!

As always, thanks for your support and patience. This is the only place I draw my salary from atm, so it's hugely helpful that so many of you stick around for these Stormweaver gaps!

PS: Hopefully the fact that I'm up at 5am to work will convince some of the sceptics of how much time Wraithmarked has been putting into A Mark of Kings and related projects... 😅

I think you can safely say that most everyone is here for the chapters. The art, and other stuff is cool but the book is what brought us here and what keeps us here. I don't understand how that's not the first priority. Everything else is being built off of the book, if you didn't have it none of the rest would exist at all.

The book is first priority, but it is not the only priority. Bryce runs two companies with multiple full- and part-time employees, neither of which is exclusively based on Stormweaver. He cannot, for example, NOT fulfill the A Mark of Kings Kickstarter. While we very much appreciate your support, if you cannot understand how this might cause occasional delays and feel you are not getting your money's worth, you are absolutely at liberty to take your leave, thank you!

Bummer, the three week stretches between chapter releases are rough on my sanity. Thank God I can just keep reading book 2 chapter 0-22 over and over again and when I am not reading I listen to book one in the background constantly. It’s funny that with over 700 books in my audible library that book 1 is the only book that I have listened to more than twice. I am at 16 times to date! Love the books, keep up the good work. If you ever want to drop a new chapter in mid week you wouldn’t hear any complaints from me.

Bryce, you can’t please everyone. There are far more of us that are just happy to be here on this journey through your story. Your decision making has brought us all here so do not add the extra stress of fearing we will not read book 2 because of an extended time line. I’ll read it even if it comes out in 2065. I’ve read book one at least 10 times over and really enjoy the way you write. You are the golden goose, take care of yourself!

My comment was meant to be constructive. I didn't get on here to argue or offend anyone. Maybe I have become a little too invested in this series and need to step away. I really enjoy what you guys are doing and hope things come together for you on all of your projects.

I love Mark of Kings. I’m actually bummed I came too late and missed the Kickstarter when it came out. Hopefully there will be more of that content on here in the future!

... no? you've been a Patron for 6 months, taking advantage of the Early Access chapters, art, books, and ARCs. You are welcome to cancel your renewal, of course, but a refund after 6 months of multiple leaked series, books, and projects is not appropriate.

No disrespect, but I came here for stormweaver stories. Like many people commenting above I am disappointed in the lack of storm weaver content or chapters provided. It’s an amazing story, but the price to get access to an early release of the chapters has not been worth it. It seems like we are getting more excuses then not for why we are not getting anything new for stormweaver.

it is stated in the tier when you support and at the top of every new release chapter that the chapters will come every 1 to 2 week on average, though sometimes with a longer delay. it is not a hidden factor, so you would have been aware of it when you backed, and for the last 6 months of chapters. additionally, $10 a month is not the price for Stormweaver chapter access (that $5 a month). you elected the $10 a month tier to get access to other early releases, which we have provided several of. even since you backed. so again, we will not be issuing a refund after you've had the opportunity to take advantage of 6 months of Patreon access only to now decided it's "not been worth it". feel free to cancel your subscription, and you can choose from there to either not be a Patreon or resubscribe at the $5 tier.

I actually found out about this Patreon originally from this Kickstarter in which I picked up the book already. Just wish there was more! Died a little when Bryce said it would be years until the next one 🥲

I love your stories, and the artwork and I look forward to new chapters but I think rereading what has already been written makes a lot of sense to do regardless of how active you are in the creation process. I think it will help keep the story cohesive. Thanks for sharing.

I am not about to cancel but - as few have expressed their opinion and faced hostility, i feel i should join the fray. I am one of probably many (hint - compare like numbers of chapters vs other stuff) who are here for Stormweaver chapters. Every email from Patreon that turns out to be another rough anime drawing, is little disappointment. Its not that i dont like good graphic novel, but dropping occasional mediocre scetches as excuse is not exiting for me. Perhaps you should start publishing when you have hit the style and emotion. Sure, they dont bother me when chapters drop regularly, but at the moment i feel sympathy with the people voicing their displeasure.

You appeared to be suggesting that because the way the Patreon was currently operating wasn’t to your satisfaction it should be changed regardless of the reason or the fact that many others we happy with it. The last “suggestion” made it clear that you thought what you wanted was the paramount concern. That’s the clear message from your post for me
