You guys seemed to like it the last time I did this, so I'm going to start doing this whenever I have the art to justify it.  I figure that between the old images that are in the game, as well as what I'm currently commissioning for Wanton Cove, I should be able to present an image breakdown like this about once a week for the foreseeable future.  Add to that the art being made for Inheritance and I am hopeful we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the future (I think it would be ideal to make an art post of this nature about twice a week, but I guess time will tell.)

Without further adieu:

I currently have three pieces of art that haven't been shared in their final form with you guys.  I'll be sharing one of the simpler ones with you guys today.

This first sketch is the concept piece I was given by the artist with both the "Portrait" and "Scene" sketches. on it.  The image on the left hand side is the bust for the portrait image.  This was based off of the in-game description of Azumi and the first bust image I commissioned.  Eventually I hope to do a bust for every character in the game with the intent of displaying them with the character information for each NPC. Kind of a visual aid to go with your case notes.  We'll be ignoring the image on the right and the room sketch until next time.  ;)

In all honesty, when I saw the image, I was impressed with it and couldn't think of anything to add.  I told the artist to go ahead and continue work without any major changes to that particular sketch.

\

The next thing I received from the artist was an inked version of the above.  Now, at this point, I was thinking to myself that I should have asked them to not clothe Azumi for the bust as I'm not even certain she'll wear clothing at any point in the story, but I loved the outfit and now I'm hellbent on writing at least one scene to justify showing her dressed in those clothes.  Like the sketch, I was very happy with the image and decided to give the greenlight to frame it for the final version.

One of the things I had mentioned early on to the artist concerning the busts is that I wanted to frame them.  I've always liked woodwork, and I've always liked oval frames for old pictures.  Ironically, I think more talk went into the frame for this image than actually went into Azumi herself, . . . go figure.  We opted to incorporate those things into the final version, and I've got to say that I really loved the final version.  To me, it felt very appropriate to the setting, and the time period that its supposed to take place in.

I asked the artist to save the frame since I like it well enough to use it with all of the busts in the game.  I think it looks nice without coming off as gaudy, and I don't think there are enough NPCs in the game for it to appear so often that people start getting sick of it (Not that people will be ogling the frame.  :P

Both the above image, as well as Tanya's bust will be appearing in not tomorrow's build of the game, but the one to follow.

The Azumi bedroom scene will appear in the build that follows that.

The goal moving forward will be to commission 3-4 pieces for Wanton Cove every month for the foreseeable future, then instead of dumping them all in the game at once I want to pace myself and try to present at least one piece in each new build of the game.

Coming up next:  The next art breakdown I do should be Azumi's bedroom scene (You know, the images I said to ignore above?  Those and a couple more to complete the set.)  After that. I'll do either an Inheritance set if I receive a complete set of art from the artists by then, or I'll do the breakdown of Tanya's bust image.

Hope you all enjoy the art!  I know I'm having a lot of fun showing it off to all of you!
