As you all probably know, I've been talking with three artists about doing art for Inheritance.  Yesterday, I set them about the task of doing some sample art related to the title screen of the game, and I'm starting to get some art and sketches from them now.

I'll share a few of them with you now!

This first image is the CURRENT title image.  I'm posting it again for contrast.  While I love this image, we plan to redo the cover image for the sake of consistency throughout the game.

Now, this second image is a rough sketch for an alternate version of the title art.

A closer version of the girls themselves.

Some sketch work for Anna.

\

And finally a couple of pieces of background art.

While we're still waiting on one more artist to offer some sample images, right now, we're leaning towards the animeish style of art presented for the girls in the first few images, and the background art style presented in the final two images.

I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on these images  Do you like them?  Or not?  Why?  I'll see to it that the artists receive any feedback you guys provide.

One of the big reasons we're planning to do the drawn art for the game is because we want to include a paper doll style system that will allow for completely custom images within the game I think that drawn art like this will make doing that easier, and at least to me its easier on the eyes when art is heavily used. Unlike Wanton Cove where there are few images in the game, we actually hope to present about one image per page in this game. As for file size, I've been thinking about this. I think if the game ever progresses to a point where the file size becomes significant, I'll look at options to make downloading it easier (Maybe a core download with update packs for new builds so that not everything will need to be downloaded, or something similar..)

No offense, but I really wasn't a fan of the 3d renders. Unless they're of a really high quality, they have a bizarre uncanny valley effect that looks really bad in so many mediocre porn games. Visual Novels seem to do a great job of being able to display a diverse set of emotions and clothing options, so I thoroughly agree with this change.

Everyone has their preferences for art. I'm personally of the mindset that what is right for one project is not always right for another. In this case, I think the new art we are working on is going to be a really good fit. Glad you approve!
