Gon did not win the match against Gido he broke some bones

Speaking a bit to your point near the end, something that I really love about this anime is how even though both Gon and Killua are shown to be incredible talents, they're always surrounded by people who are ALSO incredible talents. And not only are the other people incredible talents, like Hisoka, but they all also have like 5-10 years on them of experience. It's not just that you have to be strong in this world to excel, but they put themselves in another level of this world where the bare minimum is to be strong. It makes the emotional/mental journey much more fulfilling and engaging than the physical one sometimes. Every arc (With the exception of the exams) they're thrown in over their heads and have to rise to even greater heights just to keep going. It's so great and inspiring to watch

I'm so happy that we can now talk about how Hisoka's Bungee Gum has the properties of both rubber and gum

The most interesting thing about Bungee Gum is that it's both rubber and gum simultaneously. You'd expect it to be rubber OR gum, one or the other. But it's not, it's both. Wild stuff.

There’ve been a handful of new terms so time to update my list! Since I don't know if it's possible to bold text or something like that in comments, new sections are marked with an asterisk. What we know so far: Nen is the ability to control one’s life energy or “aura”. Everyone has this “aura” but it takes time, talent, and skill to learn how to use it. Major Nen principles: Ten: The ability to maintain one’s aura around oneself, which can harden the body, as well as slow the effects of aging. Zetsu: Essentially the opposite of Ten. Zetsu suppresses one’s aura so that none leaks out. Useful for concealing one’s presence, as well as recovering from fatigue. Ren: Used to bring forth more aura than is passively released. This can then be used however the user intends. *Hatsu: Using one’s Nen to do “something”. Basically an ability, whatever it may be. Ex. Hisoka’s Bungee Gum. *Extra Terms: (Generally not important to remember the names, more so what they do) *Gyo: Subcategory of Ren, where instead of bringing forth aura across one’s whole body, it’s focused in a particular spot, commonly the eyes to allow one to see hidden Nen. *In: Subcategory of Zetsu, where like Gyo, it’s a more focused version of its parent term. Instead of suppressing all aura, just the aura you want to remain hidden is suppressed. Ex. Hisoka’s Bungee Gum during Hisoka vs Kastro.

I guess you got an answer to your question earlier, but yep, technically anyone can learn any Nen ability.* It's still much better to focus on what comes naturally though, which is a really cool way to have a power system. Any world where people get to essentially choose their own ability is always more interesting to me, since it means seeing someone's abilities can be an insight into their character. *There is a small caveat to this, but that'll be explained later.

Its not brought up alot and can be easy to miss, but Hisoka's aura has the properties of both rubber and gum

We need and deserve a minimum of 10 hxh reactions a week. Also if you didn't notice by now, Hisoka's Aura has the properties of both, ruber and gum.

Since people have mentioned Bungee Gum just a bit, I think it's worth pointing out that the way it's written in the original is 伸縮自在の愛, which means "love for the control of elasticity." Not to be too insistent, but again here, the focus is on Hisoka's emotional / psychological connection. That is the fundamental basis for all Nen. And just for good measure, バンジーガムはガムとゴム両方の性質をもつもの. 😉

It's the gift that keeps on giving. 4 years later for me and it always makes me chuckle. Prepare for hundreds of youtube comments like it

8:59 "I feel like Nen for the characters isn't just going to be a power system, but also an expression of Self." - Peak analysis right there.
