Building on what Goodwin was saying at the beginning and end, what I like most about the flashback this episode is that I think it represents the case for probably most school sports teams. They don't have a coach, so they have to coach themselves, and even if they want to, it's not easy to explain to others something that you might only understand intuitively yourself. 11:00 Still annoys me that they translate a "pump fake" as "oNe PeRsoN TiME diFeRReNcE" as if that English existed. Like, c'mon translators. Touch grass, and watch a game, maybe, haha. But more importantly, I think it's easy to miss why the fans in the stands say that the pump fake is pretty "ballsy." (Or word-for-word in Japanese, why their "livers are seated," haha, which just means they're acting unafraid) Basically, setting to the middle like Tsukki or Hinata, the opposing team blockers can get to you really easily if they know it's coming. You can take one big step to get from the side to the center, but getting from one side of the court to the other is harder. So, when you set to the center, you're basically relying on speed; you're hoping the other team isn't ready for it, and so usually you use a quick. Tsukki knew they'd expect that, and instead he gets Kageyama to set a pump fake. If they don't fall for it, that would mean you've taken your quick attack and just made it slow for no reason, and now you're almost certainly going to get blocked by a few people. So, pump fakes are high-risk, high-reward, and fairly uncommon in modern volleyball. 11:47 "Why does he look and sound like a villain?" I think I mentioned it before, but it's the same voice actor as Frieza from Dragonball, haha.

SO, 4th set is done but we can see that everyone is nearing their exhaustion point, specifically Kageyama. It's so realistic how they portray the tiredness you feel. Let's see how they handle the tie breaker set! Did you notice how Tsukki shows concern for Kageyama in his Tsukki way? lol Lastly, Yamaguchi will come in to pinch serve and only do his float serve since that is the serve no one else on the team can do and has a higher chance of scoring. So you don't have to worry if he won't do it!

I completely get your point about the pump fake but I would’ve not known what that was if they hadn’t translated it because no one really explains it before or after
