Patreon native uploads currently aren't working for me so Streamable instead for this one

When the manga chapter for this dropped some fans thought this was “laying it on too thick” or something. Don’t care this was a great moment further uplifted by the anime. You can see how the light comes back to Deku’s eyes as Ochaco speaks. Iida and Bakugo’s efforts would’ve been all for nothing if it weren’t for her here. And a great callback to have the star headed guy from all the way back in the first episode of the anime make an appearance. Only one episode left, hope you’re ready Goodwin.

Please upload it here.. because streamable is not available in my country. I can't even access it.

i have been waiting for this episode for so long since i saw it in sub. like it just fits so well in exactly what you have been saying since like season 1. also that guy with stars around his head talking to everyone wasnt random exactly, he was from episode 1, he was the one who said "oh i know what you are, a fan boy"

_ scüp

This episode is a must watch in original japanese too, Urakaka's speech in sub is one of the best va performances of the entire show

Skyler Anderson

I'm so sad that the season is over but at least I got one more for the reactions on your channel.

Fun fact: The guy with the star t-shirt is actually in episode 1. He was the one who called Deku a fanboy and asked him if he wanted to be a hero!

Jake White

Can’t speak for Deku but idk I think a nice hug like that from Tall Fox Mommy might fix all my problems

I wonder how Stain feels about the heroes that quit. Would he be glad they have relinquished the title of hero and praise the ones that are fighting now with no monetary gain? Or would he hate the quitters even more because it really proved they weren't heroes and were able to benefit from the system but then quit when it got hard?

Sacha

Not only is the 3 stars man a call back to the first epsiode/chapter but the ost track that ends Uraraka’s speech is “You Can Become a Hero” the same track that is used in episode 2 when All Might tells Deku that “you can become a hero”. It also mirrors Deku falling to his knees in front of All Might while here he falls to his knees in front of UA, as well as the very last line of episode 1x2 when he says “this is the story of how I became the greatest hero” and we finally get the add on line that we have been waiting for in 6x24 “how everyone became the greatest heroes” Horikoshi you mad man! Also anime team 👏👏👏 well bloody done!!

Jake White

Not to mention the saddest callback of the episode, the hero Eelboy that Uraraka was watching so excitedly as a kid, is the same hero that Twice stabbed to death at the beginning of this season

It's sad that they haven't hired Hayashi Yuuki to make a whole lot more new soundtracks for this season, but the ones that they did have (e.g. Nagant's theme) were nice. One important one from this episode starts at 23:20 with the Todoroki's talking to each other. In the background, you can hear All-Might's original theme, but now on violins in a much more solemn and less comic-book form. It's a nice touch to show that this is where we sort of move on and create a new generational symbol. It's All-Might's legacy, but it isn't the same model anymore. I'm surprised no one else has commented on this, but Bakugo showed remarkable self-restraint here. More than I would've shown. Goodwin was consciously tolerant of their fear and ignorance, but Bakugo holding back and not literally knocking people out to get out of the way is impressive. I'm not sure if it's right to "give credit" to people for not doing the wrong thing when we expect them to, but still.

agoodwintv

I also noticed he was doing the Bakugo thing that can be easy to miss where he's clearly paying close attention to someone, in what later often turns out to be respect or insight. In this case it was him listening to Uraraka closely

Biostar

I’ve been waiting for you to get to this point in the story for the longest time because it validates the numerous times since the beginning of your watchthrough when you made comments about how the idea of a single pillar was flawed from the onset. One thing I didn't like came from the dub. It changed a line during that moment of Uraraka's speech when Toga flashed through her mind. It's suppose to be like "So that we can smile together in the future!" which makes her think of Toga's tears that she saw. Within the context of the dub, it just seems random.

Lorcybo02

Im not ready to see the finally next week ;(

macrowave

Wanted to point out that Kota said “I’m here, so you don’t have to cry” He’s already acting like the greatest hero, All Might

Cody Galo

Hi Alex! During your small breakdown of Nezu's speech, you stated that his use of the word 'Progress' is a red flag. I was just curious what you meant by that, as I don't often hear people refer to progress in that way, and I always am interested in your perspective on things in these reactions.

Josh

The random dude with the starts protruding from his head is the guy from episode one that asked Deku "You wanna be a hero too huh? Fanboy?" then looks to Kamui Woods fighting the giant guy, before mount lady so rudely interrupted, and says "Give us a good show tree man!" or vice/versa.

crazizzle85

I'm just saying, Uraraka is never going to have to worry about getting approval from the boyfriend's mother when her and deku finally get together. Inko is already planning the wedding at this point lmao

crazizzle85

I want to know what he'd say about Mt. Lady. He almost surely would have considered her a fake seeking fame, but she's still out there fighting the good fight with a neck brace when there's nothing but criticism and hatred out there for heroes .

Kollie123

It honestly still seems pretty random in the sub, we’re just supposed to know in both versions she’s thinking about Toga as more than an enemy she has to beat. The difference between wanting to smile together and wanting to fight to help her(what I assume the dub was going for) is pretty minimal to me

Biostar

Except their last encounter ended with her noticing her tears and then she pops up about a speech about smiling together. I don’t think it’s that difficult to connect the dots.

KuroNekoMataXIII

I think the flash of Toga when Uraraka is speaking is her finally realizing she probably made a mistake the last time they met face to face. Toga has been treated very similarly to how Deku is now her whole life because of her quirk. So Uraraka is remembering their last encounter and how she pretty much treated Toga the same way the mob is treating Deku.

DontStealMyFish

Toga hurts people though. Deku helps. It would be a little different if Toga was more like Twice

Ryan

I actually think that's the point, though. Like, Toga / Dabi / Shigaraki are the worst case scenarios. They have genuinely sociopathic tendencies and a history of murder and violence without remorse. And yet, they are still people. How do we "save" someone like that? What do we do for people like that? If we just say that the solution is to eliminate them or treat them as inhuman villains, we end up where we are now or even worse with someone like the Commission deciding who lives and dies in secret.

KuroNekoMataXIII

And keep in mind that they weren't killing people until after they were shunned and turned away by people. Killing came more from their frustration at society casting them aside without trying to understand them or help them. They didn't just one day decide to start killing because they enjoy it.

BALAMB GARDEN! I think you may have referenced it in the past, but man it's cool to see you reference Final Fantasy, because I literally thought the same exact thing when I was watching this episode! lol

kingafreund

Not me, drowning in the sea of my tears over this again! Best Uraraka moment, hands down. Finally, we can take a huge sigh of relief. Stuff like this is why I don't understand people who hate on Uraraka and make her out to be nothing more than a useless, boring love interest who only revolves around Deku. Like she didn't go through her own evolution of what being a hero means for her, or didn't have her own designated villain that challenges her outlook. Wild. Anyway, I love that the old guy from Episode 1 came back and got a moment. I wonder if he recognized Deku at all? I wonder about the All Might thing. Like, these people are willing to throw children to the wolves, I can't help but think that there's plenty of them who probably blame All Might for the current state of things? I really don't think his word would help at all, aside from maybe changing the target from Deku to him. Especially coz he can't really help clean up the mess...
