yeah regarding the music, the main composer is the same as my hero academia, though haikyu has a 2nd composer as well working alongside

The track in question though is definitely done by Yuki Hayashi which is the My Hero composer. The more chill tracks and slice of life sounding ones are the other composer. That being said Haikyuu aired before My Hero so it's more so influence from this to My Hero rather than the other way.

I hope Goodwin knows this comes from a place of love, but 2:15's "scoop!? dip? deke? whatever they're called" had me laughing pretty hard (in English volleyball terminology, it's called a "tip," and in Haikyuu / Japanese, it's called a "feint", but you do you. If you know what you're referring to, then so much the better). 9:20 Yes, indeed, [edit: Ary beat me to it, but] Hayashi Yuuki (of MHA) made the soundtrack you're responding to there, called "Freak Quick" (Chousokkou, https://youtu.be/SNXw0OfC6eU), and it has many of the same musical turns that he uses in MHA. 17:50 Noya's shirt is a little odd, haha. 反面教師, 'hanmen kyoushi' or literally "opposite side teacher," means "a good example of what *not* to do," or basically, a useful negative example. More important language note: the guy who was trying to get Shimizu's number at the end was translated as saying have fun and "play." I think that might get a bit lost in translation, but the word for "play volleyball" as in "compete at a sport" is usually 'suru' or 'yaru' (both mean just "to do" the sport), or there's a bunch of words related to "fighting." Instead, the guy at the end used the word "asobu," which is more like 'play' as in 'hang out,' / 'chill' / 'have fun.' In Japanese, matches in sports aren't called "games" like they are in English, so we're already inclined to think of sports as pure "games" or "fun / entertainment," but in Japan now, and especially historically, sports were taught as a way to hone the body, mind, and spirit. So, that theme of "competition vs entertainment" is going to be explored in the next few episodes. Even if the translations are a bit awkward, hopefully that much gets through.

At the beginning of watching this match, I made a joke that height was the power system of the series, but it actually wound up being really interesting in regards to how they dealt with the problem. I really liked it.
