Regarding Dabi, I feel like he's so overwhelmed by the euphoria he feels over finally hurting Endeavor paired with the fact that he no longer has to hide all this hatred with the calm facade we've seen has him basically go insane. It's also perfect timing /because/ we know that Endeavor has worked so hard to be who he is now. All the other Todoroki's know too, even Dabi (he somehow knows that his father is working to reconnect with his kids). It's why he revels so much in getting to destroy everything his father has built since becoming #1. He's basically a vengeful spirit that's screaming, "You thought you were done apologizing? You thought there was nothing left to atone for? Well, there's still one Todorok left."

I was waiting for this just to see your reaction to Best Jeanist, it did not disappoint LMAO

Airi

glad you are doing better <3

Kollie123

Starting off the new year with the return of BJ

Miguel

That Best Jeanist reaction was everything I was hoping for LOL

Ardawen

Best Jeanist was still recovering from being attacked by All for One. It's only been a few months since, and he almost died.

Something I appreciate is Shouto's switch from "Endeavor" to "Dad," really represents the change Dabi hasn't seen

What a great return, huh? I've been waiting for your reaction to BJ returning for a long time, it did not disappoint! I missed the puns so much! What a rollercoaster of an episode. I have to say, on second viewing the Ochako-Toga confrontation read completely diffrent to me, don't know if it's the voice work or just that I have a better understanding now? It did seem a lot harsher in English though, I have to rewatch it in Japanese to see if that's true... Dabi is complicated. I do have some sympathy for that little boy Touya, but I despise the person he's now, Dabi is the one member of the League I don't care for even a little bit. With most of the others, I don't exactly want them saved, but I do feel sad about the tragedies they represent. Not him though. Probably because he's going directly after Todoroki and Endeavor (and to an extent even Hawks), it's personal.

The full story on the Todoroki family will come in about four episodes. We’ll have almost the entire story at that point.

Glad you're feeling better! We'll get a looot more of the todoroki family's story this season, though DABI'S perspective probably not till next season

Mima

glad you’re back!!! any idea what the schedule is looking like this week?

Jacob Keyser

Glad to have you back. This episode went so HARD!!! Was excited to see your reaction to the beginning

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

When I watched this episode for the first time and Best Jeanist showed up I straight up started running around my room in excitement... by the looks of these comments your reaction does not dissapoint lmao

Kollie123

Well when the creator refuses to do anything with the character lol

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

wdym she's been a badass the last two episodes contributing with all our other fav heroes. theres too many characters for everyone to get their own arc.

Kayla

This reaction was so worth the wait lol

Kayla

It's too bad almost everything Toga said came off as being crazy lol. Uraraka could probably relate to some of her feelings. We have seen that she wants to be like Deku as well. With the additions to her costume and back during the sports festival, she said she wanted to win and be like Deku. So what Toga is feeling is normal on some level, it just got warped over time.

Athena

Literally my exact reaction upon seeing BJ back in action

Ardawen

do believe "bad" people exist. I also think "bad" people can turn around. The difficult part is celebrating that someone has learned from their mistakes, while also acknowledging that you can be mad about the bad things they did.

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

the way you reacted to BJ at the beginning of the episode is exactly how i reacted to BJ showing up at the end of the episode lmao

I don't think Dabi's information is mismatched. He said something along the lines of "you were so overwhelmed with joy at becoming the #1 hero that you finally decided to reconnect with your kids? He knows that Endeavor is not the same. He just doesn't care. He probably thinks it's too little too late.

Ryan

I'm thinking maybe it's a little of both. I think Dabi is fighting his memory of Toya's father. The fact that Endeavor is a different person now is maybe separate from his desire to inflict pain on the person he was.

Ryan

She and Deku really need to come up with abbreviations for their attack names, though. She's rivalling the whole "One-for-all-full-cowl-40%-air-force-Detroit-smash" essay level 'gimei.'

2023-01-20 11:39:55 I don't think the fire on the mountains was the turning point for Dabi. I think he used it as a means to escape/run away. He said he was there to watch Shoto being abused. And in season 2 when first learning Shoto's back story in a memory, there are 3 kids playing that Endeavor drags Shoto away from. So I think Dabi had already started festering in a sense being abandoned/ignored once Shoto was born. He was the first born & seems like he started off having a good father-son relationship. The betrayal & hurt came way before the mountain fire in my opinion.

Your reaction to best Jeanist! I was eating for this episode and it did not disappoint. I was just as happy to see him on the manga panels. Being animated makes it so much better.
