Some people are born with the ability to see curses. Some people are born with cursed techniques carved into their bodies. Cursed Energy is the manifestation and manipulation of negative emotions. It can be used in its raw from for kinetic based feats like Yuji or Midoriya. Some people are born with techniques, similar to quirks, that allow them to use their cursed energy to fuel these born powers. You can set limiters on your abilities using pacts in order to receive boosts in power if meeting certain conditions. Explaining your technique in detail is a pact, it puts you at a strategic disadvantage but greatly boosts the power of the technique in return. Same with Overtime, he nerfs his power while working in exchange for a big boost in energy if he manages to still be working past the set time limit. Extremely gifted curse manipulators have the ability to form Innate Domains. This is an extremely difficult and rare ability that only some people manifest(examples: Gojo, Volcano head). These Domains buff the user’s abilities and make their techniques always hit. The only reliable way to counter these domain attacks is directly blocking them with lots of cursed energy or enacting your own domain. People like closet badass Manager Ijichi can manifest a weaker and more limited cersion of a domain known as a barrier. They lack advanced techniques but can form a type of shielding/camouflage known as barriers depending on the skill of the user and the type used. Ijichi’s just disguises cursed events from the general populace.
