Tinfoil hat theory time: The death of Tohru’s mom had something to do with her gang affiliation. And is also somehow connected to the Soma clan. And Kyo, because that's still the tinfoil hat theory for now Also Momiji has blonde hair and golden eyes. Is he from Xerxes? Alphonse??? I mean, Amestris is inspired by Germany in many respects

Japan actually has an extensive history of all female schoolgirl gangs back in the 70s, so a lot of this isn't just ficiton, there were actual girls in middle school and high school doing gang activity

Been looking forward to this one. Hope you enjoyed it :) Uotani is one of my favorites, but her backstory was actually one of many plot points that wasn't included in the original 2001 Fruits Basket anime. I was so glad when they included it in the remake!

OH Uo backstory o.o i forgot it was so early in the series o.o did we ever get any kind of flashback/story hint in the original? i could of sworn we got some information but for the life of me i can't separate it from the remakes backstory >.<...which might mean we got barely anything in the original...just filling in gaps i guess XD "Pain is your mother forgetting you...I made myself sad saying that" lmao alex omg XD missed ur uploads Alex hope everything is somewhat stable for ya now :3

Update: "Even if it's panties, why can't you have an opinion on it without it being weird?" You forget Alex, that Kyo and Yuki are angsty teenagers Tohru would also definitely be a good gang leader. Any dispute with a rival gang, she would just start gang therapy. Finally: it rubbed me the wrong way thinking that Uotani initially showed interest in Tohru to meet her mom. But it was really redeeming to hear her explain how her perception of her mom crumbled. I feel like that was probably when she began to view Tohru as her own person and not under a biker leader's shadow.

Uotani backstory...so so good man. Next episode is one of the best in the entire show imo. Hope the 3 day break was good! Wow this episode gives me a lot of emotional ptsd, some parts are hitting WAY to close to home for me. This two-parter is probably my favorite part of Season One.
