Mark does need air, he was fine near the moon as he could hold his breath and pop back to get more air quickly. I think Omni-man said he could hold his breath for 2 weeks.

When Robot pats Rex on the shoulder, he mentions he must have "pinched a nerve". Robot's voiced by Zachary Quinto, who also played Spock in the Star Trek reboot movies. So, possible sly Vulcan nerve pinch reference there. I never know whether to be confident about these things, since I don't know whether it was originally in the comic. There's another one like this next episode, too.

It's interesting. We know that Omni-man is probably a terrible guy, but somehow he's also pretty charismatic. I guess that's where those who are good at everything will exude charm and confidence. Also I can sort of understand the secret identity thing, you'd be pestered every day for attention or threats simply for the notoriety or for personal gain from others I think. But also, I feel like as a superheroes significant other, I'd probably get tired of the pretty obvious lies halfway through.

Yeah this first season throws in a lot of setups. This show is based on the comics of the same name, so there are more seasons coming.

Yeah the highest stakes are for the loved ones... but how do you give them the choice without them knowing

So what was that story again? Went over to Guardian's HQ.. lights went out and you got snuck up on? Didn't seem like you were snuck up on so easily as Cecil proved by teleporting into his house. We already know it's super precise, since we've seen him show up literally in Mark's room. He was testing Omniman. I'm pretty sure he knew before, but that just proved the story was BS.

So many lies this episode! It's especially terrifying with Omni-man because he knows exactly what to say to people to elicit the emotion he wants out of them, and because nobody knows anything about his origins he doesn't have to be truthful with these things at all. I think he'll tell some half-truth or version of the truth if it serves him emotional-impact-wise, but other times it seems like he just completely makes up how he's feeling or what his past was like — for example I'm not sure if it is, but the story he told Mark about his parents sounded completely fake because he didn't have any acceptable emotional motivation to come to Earth. It's like Nolan has complete understanding of the connotations of words in any order. Buuut I think this falls apart with Cecil, because Cecil does not seem to be basing his actions in emotion *at all.* He's using cold-hard logic and Omni-man has no match for it. I think it ties into his seeming disdain for the human race, but I think Nolan assumed he could kill the Guardians and easily get away with it because he thinks everyone around her is dumber/lesser than he is and easily fooled. In reality, that very overconfidence is what is causing people to suspect him of lying, whether it's emotionally covering up his doubts or factually covering up evidence. Now, he's in a position, perhaps for the first time, where he isn't naturally at an advantage and his victory in this game of cat-and-mouse isn't a foregone conclusion.

Sage

I think Cecil was right for what he did there to the demon. All he was doing was putting omniman on edge without any benefits or progress when right now that bomb can't be exploded yet.

Yeah his major mistake seems to be his arrogance, which I also feel is the root cause of the disdain he shows for others. He's OMNIMAN, the greatest hero on Earth ever, I suppose. But that leaks into his entire system of evaluation, and as you said now he's in a situation he can't just overpower with his natural abilities and good looks.

People don’t know Nolan is Omni Man for the same reason ppl don’t know Eve is Atom Eve, she gave some type of explanation for in the episode 1 or2.

So… about the secret ID. History lesson time! In 2006 Marvel in response to 9/11 like many things. Released Civil War. A series in which after a team of teen heroes get a large section of a town blown up. Including an Elementary School. The USA government passed the superhero registration act. A law requiring all “super” people to register with the government. Being an off shoot of the racist. Mutant registration act. This law applies to everyone with power. If you can fly or are even a “super scientist” you need to register. Tong Stark pushed for superhero community icon Spider-Man to back the act. After talking it over with his family. Especially his wife. He told the world at press conference. “My name is Peter Parker and I’ve been Spider-Man since I was 15 years old” Then throughout the story. Tong Stark and his team start doing more and more messed up shit. At one point locking up heroes in another dimension that causes mental trauma to people in it for over a few hours. Working with terrorists. He betrayed Iron Man. Feeling he went to far. So the King Ping of crime hired a sniper to kill him. His Aunt May was shot and came close to dying if not for a terrible follow up story. She would have died. The moment he lost round the clock police protection his family was targeted. Even when he had protection there were attempts to kill his Wife. He was sued like crazy for things he’d done as a hero. He was less affective and limited by the law. The whole thing is considering one of his biggest mistakes. In comics there are villains who the moment they know your name will go after your family. In an alternate reality where Superman went evil. The first thing the POTUS did was kidnap his completely innocent parents lol. In most superhero stories there are no laws to protect heroes. You can sue them. And there is no way to protect there families. So I mean you could tell everyone but your mon may get kidnapped or murdered and unless your Superman. You can’t be 100% sure you’ll save them

The point of a superheroes having secret identities is so that villains don't just show up at their home and try to kill them. Or kidnap/kill their loved ones.

"it's not really the best color scheme for anything." Damn Alex, really throwing some shade there XD
