Holy... Stinking... SUPER CRAP lol

benj

This world needs some garbage disposal hero's more than anything else lmao. I don't think petty villian crime is the no. 1 issue here when you got beaches looking like that.

Brimmy

Kids show he says wait for it LMAO

BubbleTea

Don't lie, we all know the 1st thing we thought when All Might said Deku needed to eat DNA to inherit One for All

themightyabe

"At least it's hair." Alex we were all thinking it when we first saw it too.

Kollie123

Funny thing about one for all and FMA, the principal of it sounds more like Ed and Al’s philosophy at the end of the series, they wanted to do more than just be even, they wanted to give more so everyone could be stronger, like how the each time the quirk is passed on it becomes stronger

Carlos Salazar

I didn't remember Present Mic english voice, so freaking lame

All Might is around 55 years old. Also, I'm really glad you chose to start watching this series. All Might and Deku are the core of the series and you seem to have picked up on that quite swiftly.

I think "heart-warming" is a great way to describe the show. In a world full of professional heroes and powers, it's not the power that defines them it's often the character and the heart, which Deku has already shown in the short time. Next episode is the one that hooked me into the show, so I look forward to it!

Brimmy

but but its Krillen from DBZ! i agree though it doesn't have the impact that the sub does

Watching MHA for the first time with you 🎉🎊 looking forward to how this show unravels.

"atleast its hair!" im dead

So fun to see you react to this, and I'm glad your finding things to connect to in it already. It's great seeing the relationship with All Might and Deku start to develop episode, and it's hard not to feel motivated seeing Deku working so hard. This show has a certain sincerity to it that I really love, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of it moving forward.

Ramon Cintron

When he said he had to swallow his DNA my mind was in a completly different and more appealing aspect lol

You know what, I was hesitant to see you react to this because I consider it "basic," especially when compared to FMAB, but all my worries are gone now. I've only seen your FMAB reactions so I assumed I'd enjoy watching you most react to series like those, but I've thoroughly enjoyed these three episodes. You've even brought up a couple of things I never thought about in this series, which to be fair I maybe never gave proper credit (it's still no FMAB or HxH). So I'm excited to keep watching! Though this makes me even more excited for when you get to HxH lol

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that :D I think that if a show is done well, or is enjoyable, that probably means there's something there, even if that thing is commonly explored. Some things are always good, like the mentor-pupil relationship, the meaning of inner strength, the importance of hard work, etc. In fact, it's probably because they're so good that they get explored so often. And I think sometimes dark gets confused for "adult." The show that really started this channel was ATLA, which was a Nickelodeon show aimed at younger audiences, but even so there are few shows that contain as much depth. Conversely, I've started a bunch of shows for "mature" audiences where characters were "gritty" but flat that I ended up dropping. I didn't know what to expect from MHA, but so far it's a lot of fun and I love the heart! I just hope this continues :D

I definitely agree with your stance on "dark" shows not inherently being more mature - ATLA is as well one of my all-time favorites. My problems with MHA have more to do with pacing (which may have been negatively influenced by my watching it with ads) and just not being FMAB or HxH lol. Plus there's always the pesky popularity that my inner hipster hates, even if that's a meaningless criticism. This show is maybe less smart than a couple others, but it is very emotional, and rewatching these first two episodes reminded me of how attached I initially got to the story before my own personal real-life conflicts separated me from entertainment in general for a while.

I have some interesting feelings about 2011 hxh vs 1999, I love both, but I don't know how much of my love of 2011 is influenced by 99. There are some parts I miss from the 99 version and may change the tone or pace. I love both either way though. I hear people who love 2011 still say to watch ep 1 of 99 first sometimes too for reasons.

I kind of like 99 more too lol. But I'm more of a manga guy (not because of dumb pretentious superiority or anything, just cause I'm impatient and manga is faster) so if I'm gonna watch an anime I'd rather something with good filler over something with no filler cause then I'd just read the manga. Bad filler is the worst, though, but 99 is good filler. Plus the art direction is great

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

The best character has arrived! Present Mic xD

Stephen

<3 wishing you closure on relationship

Jay Crigler

So was I the only one that got ATLA vibes when All Might was explaining his quirk One For All he said it's a sacred torch that gets passed down and increases in power with each person.

Vali

“At least it’s his hair” LOL glad I wasn’t the only one making that joke

Vali

Serious note, I really relate to the whole finding yourself in a rut and discovering something to look forward to and to work towards in order to pull yourself out of it. That’s where I find myself at right now and I feel like I’m approaching that feeling of unstoppability and it’s great to get there especially after going through a rut.

minimonie__

that 'one for all' threw me off xD

Karsten Hase

pfffff "kids show" he said ... let it ATLA u hard ^^

So long as everyone commenting can BEHAVE, we will be okay haha!

Your girlfriend dumping you reminds me of that fortune teller story you told about your breakup. Wild

Darby

The '99 version of HxH just doesn't have the same impact as the 2011 one does, for me. The sound design/soundtrack falls flat and the characters are....different lol. There's one aspect of the 2011 show that I just don't understand why they altered from the '99 version but I won't spoil anything here in the comments - other than that, I find it hard to watch the first version over the new.

I definitely like certain characters more in the 11 version, like Kurapika and Hisoka. However, other characters, like Killua and Gon, come across better in 99. I don't think one is definitively better than the other in every regard, since they each do some things better. The reason I prefer 99 is because the manga is the definitive version of the story (CA just doesn't work as well animated, though 11 did the best it could - it's kind of like Watchmen in that regard) and since 99 has more differences there's more worth watching, cause most differences in the 11 version compared to the manga are just plain downgrades (see: the filler in the first arc and also just the whole first episode). The filler in 99 is usually pretty excellent. Obviously 99 doesn't have CA so it's inherently worse because that arc is 99% of the reason why it's my favorite manga series, but I'd rather watch those first four arcs in 99 then switch to the manga (or just read the manga if I'm in the mood for a tighter experience) than watch 2011. If all that makes sense.

One for all is basically Raava

My favorite character Ida

One big thing that always bothered me with this show is how Deku was "worthy" of All-Might's quirk because he charged a villain with no regard for his own life and no plan at all, then had to be saved too. That's not really heroism.

agoodwintv

That's true, that probably just leads to more problems long term. Maybe for All Might, part of it was gratitude, because while he was struggling with fear about the whole situation, Deku acted, and that reminded All Might of something he may have forgotten under all the pressure and the daily grind of being a hero.
