Here we gooooooo

Nick

Just warning you that people will definitely try to spoil events in season 2. I know you're episodes ahead so you should be okay compared to the YT schedule, but still. The first maybe 6 to 8 episodes of next season get spoiled often. Also I'll update after watching

ComicalSkate

"because god forbid we should get any answers yet" as the ending of the description is perfect. Get used to it, because I dare say season 2 just props up more questions with very few answers lol. But its worth it, and you won't have to wait many years to get the answers you desire like the rest of us did.

agoodwintv

Thanks for the heads up! Although I haven't seen them, I've heard that there have been major spoilers dropped in YouTube comments.

hays collins

FINALLY season 1 is over. Time for the good shit!!!!

hays collins

“Annie fall” ugh chills everytime I see that scene. One of my favs from season 1

benj

???? I mean yeah it keeps getting better imo but Season One is amazing

Anonymous

ah yes, my favorite character reinholdt braunver (its bertholdt and reiner lol, two separate guys) and yes, i loved this finale when it first released. annie is one of my favorites from way back when she was first introduced and im glad you're also taking interest in her and her motives instead of writing her off like some others have done before

Jupiterninja

"The walls are a titan!" *wall crumbles away to reveal a titan*

Aaron Ong

These reactions just keep getting better. I loved being told I was going to disappear. Also, don't worry, this show explains pretty much everything you have questions for. Nothing is one-off, nothing is unwarranted, and I have yet to find any plot holes. All questions receive answers, and I'm so excited for you to get those answers.

malikparah

LOL at you saying the wall is a titan during your wall conspiracy theory rant and then the post credit scene revealing the titan in the wall. maybe the true walls were the titans we met along the way

Aaron Ong

The answer to everything: wall. more wall.

Anonymous

Goodwin: There are titans in the walls *sees a titan* Goodwin: Mikasa!

PS

To avoid any little spoilers you should try and get 6 episodes ahead of posting the reaction here

hays collins

And now to get the full effect of this shows experience you gotta wait 4 years for the next episode haha

Etsch

"What is this a book" lol I had the same reaction. I haven't been shy about my thoughts on Erwin lol, but I have to say I really respect his conviction. He sets his mind to a goal and he sees it through to the end regardless of what obstacles there are in his path. I forgot that Jean challenged Armin on his beliefs this episode, I am glad that's in there. I think there are definitely scenarios where the ends can justify less than ideal means but Armin takes it to a whole other level lol.

Anonymous

It's so hard to comment on anything without giving you too much to think about. You're doing a great job on these reactions and they're such a big highlight to my day every day. If it weren't for the current AOT episodes coming out on Sundays, I'd be pretty bummed every Sunday night without some Goodwin reactions. Been around since Midnight Gospel, and looking forward to Season 2 and beyond!

Nick

If he's okay with doing that then I would second this, because yeah the first 6 of this season have so many important revelations. But at the same time, that could easily cause burn out and make it unenjoyable. Sometimes you just gotta watch a show when you feel in the mood for it.

Nick

No, that was clearly Wellman in the wall. Now named Wallman. He got so tired that his skin melted.

agoodwintv

Now that Titans can fuse (although they didn't actually seem to fuse?), Reinholdt is a real possibility.

hays collins

IKR I wanna point out a subtle scene and I’m like crap nvm that would be to much spoilers

Emma Root

I'm sad to say I'm currently at the beginning of season 3 and I mostly just have more questions (Season 2 was pretty short though)

agoodwintv

Yeah for sure, part of what stood out to me was how deeply he went into that idea, like all the way. I'm also glad that Jean challenged him on that a little. It was reassuring for me

Nick

Yeah season 2 is 12 episodes! Also, don't worry, season 3 is fantastic you're in for a ride

Yourboy Gman

Is ATLA rewatch coming out tonight

mr_wordcraft

"Remember these geese? I remember" Goodwin always on point with his observations, I can't believe he actually caught on to the true conflict hiding behind AOT: the impending geese invasion.

ArmdVctr

I love how you just fused Reiner and Bethold into one person. Haha

Anonymous

"Just another day for the survey corps. Hehehe"

jdthebud

Btw I think the "I'm free" dialogue was by Annie's father, not Eren, though it is confusing since the voices aren't very distinct form each other. Glad to see this reaction, can't wait to see how season 2 goes. I'm just finishing up that season.

Brimmy

I'm cackling that wall tangent was fucking amazing XD and then u trying to guess who the titan in the wall is was just dfjgnlsfdngksdfg u are hilarious i am once again so thankful i was/am able to follow ur journey here on patreon :3

Anonymous

LOL! Thoroughly enjoyed your wall/miner monologue haha totally kept me entertained. Thank you again for a great reaction! You survived season 1 woohoo! Will the schedule continue to be the same for S2?

Anonymous

That flashback scene with Annie and her father really raised more questions than answers. I mean honestly every scene in this show is like that lol just nothing but metaphorical and literal wall. Maybe there is no answer for us to finally reach, it's just the natural limitation of human knowledge.

agoodwintv

Made it through! And yeah it will be the same, though I am debating if I should do the 2 OVAs I plan to watch now in place of normal episodes or as bonus videos.

agoodwintv

lol this was one of the most surreal episodes for me for a bunch of reasons, and that's saying something in AOT Thank you Brimmy :D

Itachi The Rouge

Thank you for the shout out Alex! This comment section has me literally laughing. So excited for season 2! I would also check out some of the OVA’s as well as get ahead in season 2 before people spoil. Mikasa kinda does look like a Canadian goose in her uniform lmao

Nick

That was definitely from Eren. I can say with confidence that was him. Earlier in the show he also mentions freedom several times, plus he's always yearning to escape the walls and see the ocean like Armin told him about in episode 5 during the flashback

Shark-ira

Seeing how desperate Annie was to run away made me feel sad. Towards the end I was kind of hoping she'd get away. :( In general I just had mixed feeling but it was a great finale overall. Something I noticed the anime cut out from the manga was a scene were Mikasa feels responsible/guilty for Levi's injury and that she needs to stop the female titan here in order to redeem herself. It was a short monologue but I think it was a nice little insight to Levi and Mikasa's relationship. :) Eren losing control always worries me but seeing him hesitate when Annie was crying and then come back to his senses for a moment was reassuring in a way. He's a character I have trouble understanding sometimes but that just makes things more interesting. Can't wait for next week. Season 2 is finally upon us!

Yusuf

He is free because he was born into this world. You have been paying a lot of attention. Can tell from your understanding and commentary. All the questions get answered eventually so don't stress yourself out. Just watch the episode for what they are and enjoy! I have one more manga chapter of Attack on Titan left to read which comes out next month. It is the last one. So watching this show again with you is so fascinating and I cannot believe how much foreshadowing and clues, as well as hints there, are in season four which echo all the way to the end of the whole manga/anime.

I think the miner story is really interesting. I genuinely have no clue why it’s there though. I mean, the miner just disappears after 20 years of mining and wishing for a better life? And his friend disappeared too? It’s such a bizarre story, but I feel like I want to take it literally, only because it seems like it was important enough to include in the show. I have no idea where this story could possibly fit into the plot, but I wish it was talked about more.

Alex Begley

Don't worry. There'll be answers to your questions but you'll only have more questions in their place haha Even by Season 4, you feel like you know what's going on but there are still hints that things aren't as they seem. One of the best things about the show

agoodwintv

That's a good idea :) I'll probably watch Ilse's Notebook and No Regrets very soon

agoodwintv

Same, I kind of wanted her to get over that wall, but it felt inevitable that she wouldn't make it. I was relieved she didn't die though because I thought that would be the show's way of avoiding giving answers. Little did I know she would become crystal. The Mikasa - Levi scene would have been nice to see

Anonymous

as someone who is now caugh up, its so surreal and experiencing this again from the beginning with you, someone new to the series. being able to connect all the links now is so fun, so i really hope you one day go back and rewatch the entire series to be able to see the whole picture from the beginning

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

Loved the reaction soo much! Quick question, will you react to "Attack on Titan in 9 minutes" by Gigguk? It’s hilarious and some of the jokes there would work well for you cause they’re things that you also mentioned in your reactions.

Christo Badenhorst

I finished 3 episodes into season two when you started the Series. So i was like screw it might as well watch with you to have company hahaha. But I'm glad i was not the only one that was curious about Annie as her character to this point is all over the place. It's showing her as evil and she is kinda for killing most of the crew. But there is this whole other side of her. Character and it bugs me that we only get to see the one side for now. I have faith we will learn more.

Clément

The titan inside the wall... It's probably Madame Christmas.

Anonymous

I dont remember which ovas came first and which to watch in order but I really hope you have it lined up by some one who does, really happy u finished season 1. Remembering that season 2 finally aired after like 6 years in the making and kabeneri of the iron fortress was made by the same studio, (i think you will enjoy that as wel) anyways may i ask where are you now in the series while you posted this last episode of season 1?

Matthew B

Now to get the full attack on titan experience you have to wait 4 years before you react to season 2.

War2244

Here is a link to the No Regrets Levi OVA. https://4anime.to/shingeki-no-kyojin-kuinaki-sentaku?id=27823 I know some youtubers who reacted to it couldn't find it so they used a bad youtube version. I look forward to your reactions to season 2 and beyond!

Anonymous

"wait, it's all mikasa?" "always has been."

R'Mani Leavell

Freedom is a big thing in this anime. Erens big goal is just to be free. He wants for him and all of humanity to be able to live outside the walls in peace because in his mind, being born into this world means to be able to free. Which explains the, "Because I was born in to this world!" line was about at the end of episode 12. "The song that Erens mom gets eaten to is called "vogel im kafig", which is bird in the cage. Eren is the bird, and the walls are the cage.

R'Mani Leavell

It also plays when he transforms into a titan for the first time in episode 9

Anonymous

Lol who's Reinholt. Can't wait to see your reaction to the OVA's. Ilse's Notebook and No Regrets are some of my favorite "episodes" in the whole series.

Albert Rhodes

One cool thing about this show is a lot of the most burning questions are presented in season 1, and the rest of the show is working through them. It's not like Lost, where the questions just keep piling up until you get an unsatisfying answer for all of them. You get a lot of answers in season 2, and it's a super tight run of just 12 episodes. Of course, some answers create more questions, but that's normal.

Sh3nx

Really enjoyed watching you react to Season 1. I feel Season 1 Its the least complex season, its mostly world building and presenting characters and giving you question after question. From season 1 to 2 there is a subtle shift in story, Although More question arise, Some basic questions are finally started to get answered, and on that note I warn, Be ahead of season 2, at least up to episode 6, There are some VERY spoilable moments that the AoT fandom will spoil because In S2 we are actually getting some answers, and I have seen on other reactors that they can`t help themselves but to spoil it before you watch it. Another thing, I would suggest not watching the Op of Season 2 at least up to episode 7, Just to go as blind as possible, the opening its as vague as the other ones, but this has some spoilers about future events, and although nothing its revealed it shows some future events without context that shouldn`t be showed until atleast Ep 7. Also the only OVA worth watching before season 2 its Lisa`s notebook, its an special episode of the manga in fact that was released between Season 1, and it is very important to the lore. after that, all of the other ovas are completely optional and don`t add to the story. That's it. Great reaction as always :D

KJ Gaona

I'm super late commenting on this video, but as for that story of the miner... who knows? They think of the walls as a prison and themselves as cattle, but maybe the world itself is a prison?

agoodwintv

Yeah I've heard a lot about it and so will react to it some point, but probably later on cause right now I would like to start season 2 but also do No Regrets and Ilse's Notebook :)

agoodwintv

WOAH. This is such a coincidence. Check out the new ending screen this week :D

agoodwintv

Maybe in a way, Annie is subscribing to the same philosophy as many of the other characters. The idea that if there's something worth fighting for, then you do whatever it takes to win and becoming a monster yourself. If Annie believes in her cause, then her killing the survey corps soldiers is just a sacrifice

agoodwintv

I filmed these in advance so I could take a bit of a break last week :) So this is as far as I've seen

agoodwintv

Interesting. Eren will seek freedom until he reads the midcard book and realizes that the whole world is just wall.

agoodwintv

Reinholdt = Reiner + Bertholdt A throwback to my first attempt at names back in episode 1 or 2

agoodwintv

Thanks for the great advice! I will watch Ilse's notebook soon, and I plan to be as far ahead as possible before season 2 goes up on YouTube :)

agoodwintv

I was thinking something like that as well. It's wall all the way up and all the way down. The distinction of where the wall ends is an illusion. But, weirdly, the miner seemed to have found purpose in looking for the end of the wall, and ultimately his journey ended.

Anonymous

I think the Levi OVAs are also extremely worth watching as they talk about Levi's backstory and how he joins the scouts. They are considered essential on pretty much every viewing guide.

Anonymous

The end of this battle was different in the manga tho. In the manga they defeated Annie especially thanks to Mikasa's help

Anonymous

"Not enjoying killing people" - And I remember the one particular scene of Female Titan spinning the dudes with a smile...
