I’m sure Hisoka hated being in that position when catching the ball, right???

It was purely for the love of the game. Hisoka is the kind of person to take sports very seriously, fanatical dedication to dodgeball you might say

Btw I was referring to the power rangers position but yea that is a good observation.

So was I 😂 Jokes aside, Gon made the plan right? If he willingly put Killua in that position, this is worse than that one time he didn't care about Killua's hands.

as another fellow Killua fan, there has always been a thread of sadness for me when thinking of Gon and his friendship. It's shown as this sweet, pure thing when if you look a little deeper past the surface, it's like Killua picks after the pieces Gon leaves behind each time. If I was Killua, who knows how long my patience would last constantly having to deal with that. The boy is so selfless and kind and he has such a connection to Gon he'd probably go along with anything. it's just a bit heartbreaking imo

Thus concludes anime’s greatest dodgeball match. I figured I’d wait till it finished to talk about it, since there was already some great discussion on Gon and Killua’s relationship on the last episode. On that topic, my general thoughts can be boiled down to “it’s complicated”. Gon and Killua clearly both care about each other deeply. The main difference I’ve noticed is that Gon doesn’t fully realize the effect he’s had on Killua. I think I mentioned this on one of the earlier episodes this arc, but while they both care and would likely do anything for each other, that anything is called into question when it’s something selfish. I honestly believe if Killua had protested holding the ball due to his hands, Gon would have backed down for his sake. But Killua would never have done that because he cares more about supporting his friend, even at the cost of his own wellbeing. This introduces the popular debate on whether or not Gon knows this, or if he’s simply oblivious to just how much Killua cares. Like I said before, I support the latter, but it’s open to debate. At the end of the day, it’s a very awkward situation that makes it hard to give a solid opinion. Aside from that, lots of great moments this mini arc, from Hisoka being Hisoka, to Bungee Gum having the properties of both rubber and gum, the list goes on.

"Once those kids see Tzezgerra surrender, they'll give up." I literally spit out my drink laughing.

Also, I don't know if you caught this since a lot of people miss it on their first watch, but bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum.

What... Hisoka beat Kastro in heavens arena 1v1. Machi healed him after but the fight was all him. Also hisoka could have used a different strategy, but he likes games

Genthru is very smart and calculating and we haven’t really seen him fight yet, other than blowing that one guy’s face off. BUT, everyone we met including Tzesgerra and anybody in the cave have all acted as if Genthru is far enough above them in combat strength that basically none of them have a chance if they chose to fight. I think this is one of the points of this arc that falls flat for a lot of people. Genthru and his cronies are interesting in their own right imo, but they’re not set up as actual characters like we had in the Yorknew arc, or will continue to have in the rest of the anime. They’re basically just a plot challenge

I was stumped at that comment as well. I believe the implication is supposed to be that he only went all out like that because he knew Machi was there and could re-attach his arms. Clearly whoever commented doesn't quite have the measure of Hisoka, who absolutely would have sacrificed both arms to win - it was a fight to the death after all. Later chapters of the manga definitely prove how far he'd go as well.

I mostly agree with that, in that Genthru is not a particularly interesting character/fighter for the arc. He serves a very important role for the story, however, beyond just being a challenge or roadblock: He personifies what's "wrong" with the game, killing as many people as possible to get through it and abusing game mechanics like the dice, he's the absolute polar opposite of Gon and what he wants the game to be.
