I think when it came to the darkness, it only makes Kinger sane, it doesn't seem to affect anybody else really. Since it reminds him of the last time he was able to be with his wife, when he would have been sane. Loved the reaction as always though can't wait to see more of them and this series!

Well putting aside the horrifying nightmare creature, this was a really sweet episode. Definitely a good episode for Kinger to get some attention, and it seems like Pomni will be a little better thinking about how the others care about her. The ghost lady was lovely too, it's a shame we didn't get much time with her.

The Conversation with Kinger feels a little bit like having a Grandparent with Dementia. Like, tehre are these brief moments of clarity, when, for just a little bit, they are back to the person you knew. But you also know that every window will get shorter and shorter until finally there is nothing left. It is helpful and hurts at the same time.

Okay... more questions... more theories... -"7 years of computer science for this, huh?" I think we can almost confirm at this point that Kinger helped program the Circus. -Was the story of Mildenhall meant to parallel Kinger's life? As Mildenhall talks about trying to defend his wife and "theoretical children", Kinger is protecting Pomni. Did Kinger kill his wife? Is Pomni one of his "theoretical children"? Was Queenie an avatar created by Kinger so he could see her one last time? -"So long as you remember." Does Kinger mean someone remembering in general, or Pomni in specific? As has been brought up routinely, "pomni" means "remember". And if she is one of Kinger's "theoretical children", could she be his actual child, or a program made specifically to restore lost memory; To remember? -"He just wants me to suffer!" Does Pomni know who Caine is? Does she have a prior relationship with who/whatever Caine is? Was Pomni sent here by her parent/mentor (Kinger?) with whom she had a strained / possibly abusive relationship? -Does Caine have a boss? Are Caine's Adventures the glue holding this place together? Has anyone figured this out? Is this why everyone just goes along with it? Insanity is said to be doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. If they stop Adventuring and just going along with Caine's madness, does that break the cycle? -Was Caine forgetting things because Zooble told him "Just forget it."? Does Zooble have some sort of admin access, or was this just Caine's programming following orders from one of the users?

I think nothing showcases how Caine doesn't quite get it so much as how he must have programmed the adventure to have characters that might needle at Kinger's softest spot, just for the sake of the motif.

This was definitely my favorite episode so far! Especially Zooble and Kinger! Not to mention the hilarious way we got a break from Jax for awhile! I would also recommend watching the full credits sometime, because the art is always so adorable! As an aside, repeatedly calling Tessa from Murder Drones “Vanessa” is the new McScrooge lol

Personally I wouldn't like the idea that Jax is a dysfunctional AI, because I think that just lets him off the hook for his behaviour.
