Well, just finished watching Morgan’s new DuckTales video, May as well watch another.

Fun fact: In the original 1987 Ducktales, Doofus Drake was just a normal kid was a recurring character. He was a woodchuck and a friend of the triplets, so this a major surprising departure from the source material, but from the what I’ve seen and heard no one who has seen the original seems to mind since Doofus was kinda uninteresting before.

The episode's writer said he always hated Doofus as a kid, so he took it out on him here.

This episode was a bit screwed over by its ads, which acted like reality had actually somehow been changed so they were no longer brothers, plus Dewey's secret being something related to Della. So a lot of fans were let down when they saw the real story, despite this being a perfectly fine episode.

I think this episode was clever for the way it played off of what binds them together in addition to what distinguishes them. It stands out given that one of the big things the show first got praised for was the way it made the triplets distinct, compared to the original show where they were kind of interchangeable. So it's like "yeah, we made them different, but they still come as a trio and value each other for that".

There was an occasion where I was watching an old VHS of the show, and my brother walked in to see Doofus and described him as looking like a foie gras bird.

As the middle of 3 brothers, I get Dewey's want for independence. But then, my brothers and I were never joined at the hip quite like these 3. My older brother was actually the "create a fake show" hobbyist. Recording interviews with his friend, because they were gonna be a band as big as Metallica, and this was their "before they were famous" series. It's hard not to love Webby in this episode. Kid just wants a family and she's a little envious of the boys for what they have. But in that same token, she definitely already feels like a sister to them.

It's sad that the Beagle Boys ended up back together because honestly the other 2 seem like they just need someone to ground them and help them grow. Aside from all the villainous activities they seem pretty alright, or at least have the potential to be. Poor guys, I feel bad for them honestly. I headcanon that they get happy endings after the show, big guy becomes a chef :3 Also uhh, Louie is probably traumatized now and I don't blame him after that harrowing experience.
