So fun fact, originally the plan was to have Ezran go to Xadia with Callum and Rayla instead of going home to be crowned. Book 2s production was where a lot of changes and expansions happened, mostly cause the writers knew the character's voices well now and thus, they realized stuff like how Ezran would choose the responsibility of going back and helping from afar as king if he was told everything, how Callum could be pushed to use Dark Magic in a desperate situation before learning the Sky arcanum, how Rayla would hold back the journey to help a dragon under attack due to her wanting to redeem her family honor, etc. A few things that were going to be in Book 2's second half were even pushed to Book 3 because of this.

Lol I was waiting to see your reaction to Rayla's instant flirting PANIC! I don't know much of the additional stuff outside the main series but I'd venture that's her trying not to come off too strong and obvious while Callum is being a lovable idiot XD
