One of my favorite episodes for sure, the wraiths are so gruesome I love em.

Mme. Razz would've been a HYUUGE mood whiplash if Grey'd gone down the dark fucked-up bitch route instead for her performance... 😁

Go Vox Machina! Always love seeing this show updated! :) Anyway, one of the reason Pike gets separated this episode is to relate to the game! The player who played her, Ashley Johnson, she used to miss a lot of games because she was filming a T.V. show back then! So that's kind of a reference to that here! And yeah, love the friendship between Grog and her, and that last scene, "what if I need you", that's so beautiful! :)

Cullen McCathrin

My fav for story telling is the next one. It's amazing how they did this "pike hike" during the campaign when she had to travel for work and couldn't play.

Liam Gradwell

Elijah’s already being very protective of Pike, who is of course Mosco’s favorite character. That’s true commitment right there. 🥹 I love the friendship between Grog and Pike. It’s just so cute. 💜

TXOT

Well now all I can hear is Delilah menacingly saying, "Razzle dazzle..."

Fun fact, the DM Matt mercer is voicing Sylas. Amd a few other background but him as Sylas is good.

So the reason for Pike's sudden departure is because at the time of these events in the game, Pike's player Ashley Johnson was busy filming the tv show Blindspot. It filmed in New York, Critical Role filmed in LA, and Ashley couldn't just fly out across the country every week to play in so sadly huge chunks of both Campaigns 1 and 2 go by with her absent from events. In the game she leaves *right before* the dinner party, missing things entirely (in universe she's taking care of a temple to her goddess that was recently encountered and in need of refurbishment). To replicate the feeling of the party going off to face a Vampire Lord and Sorceress without their cleric, they came up with this side plot of her losing her connection to her goddess. Which did happen in game, just earlier and for a different reason. But yeah, Vox Machina is currently without their healer and Pike needs to figure out what's wrong with her and get herself straightened out fast.

Sere

Fun fact, if you watch the show Ashley was on, Blindspot, she includes a few Critical Role references. Her character drinks from a Critical Role cup (Ashley's actual cup she got as part of being part of the cast, everyone gets free merch) and in one episode a coworker teases her character about playing her "wizard and elf games that take four hours to finish" and later calls her an elf, to witch Ashley's character responds "actually, I am a gnome cleric..."

Lannah Skott

from what I know The reason percys hair turned white is because he has a syndrome based of oldfolklore, Marie antoinette syndrom. It is an alleged condition of hair turning white overnight due to stress or trauma. I think Since Percy has so much of both his entire head hair turned completely white.

Sere

This. It is a supposed syndrome named after Marie Antoinette based on the story that allegedly her hair turned white the night before her execution. While no known evidence back it up as a legitimate real world condition, it does make for a good background detail in a fictional world like this.

Eliteguard99

Vox Machina is finally back baby!

Bug Catcher Jacky

I just love Vax so much. Liam O'brien has such a damn sexy voice xD

Mari L

Another great reaction! I can’t wait for the next episode!

Ferret

Trinket getting left behind is largely because Laura Bailey never used him in fights, partially because she always forgot about him and partially because ranger animal companions in 5e are, unfortunately, pretty bad so even when she did remember him he didn't do anything. So he was the party mascot and not much more.

Aineyn

Well, there's also the fact that, apparently, animating him was quite difficult! Although, I guess they could have hired that one person who'd be 100% responsible for Trinket animation or something!

jeremiah deparis

It isn't ever explained in the TV show so this isn't a spoiler but Percy's hair turned white because of the torture the Briarwoods put him through. Loving the reaction series, this show is amazing hope you have fun with it!

Hi long time fan of both your channel and Critical Role. campaign one, the campaign this show is based on was my intro into D&D. This and RWBY are what got me through my late teens and early twenties. They both mean a lot to me and to see a reactor I enjoy so much makes me happy. I have some info on the show as a long time Critter. I will avoid spoilers for later down the line of course but I highly recommend you do what another YouTube channel did called “Meesh & Dee” an amazing sapphic couple I think you would like. At the end of season one they Watched a compilation that did side by side comparisons of the Show and the Campaign and how moments changed from game to animation and more importantly in my opinion, how accurately they portrayed key moments throughout. -As explained in some other comments. It is not stated in the show. Percy’s hair turned white after torture. -Pike, voiced by Ashley Johnson had to leave the game at this time while filming an NBC show called blindspot. Throughout Campaigns one and two there are times where she is absent. -Jarred, the Royal Guard captain was not actually a guard in the game the show is based off. He was actually the head keep guard hired by Vox Machina to protect the keep when they were gone. -SPOILER FOR GAME NOT SHOW: while in the show Vox Machina may get attacked by shadows at their keep while under house arrest in the game the wraiths are actually there to kill a kidnapped Desmond, the Briarwoods carriage driver.

Anzac-A1

That's a thing in some cultures. Hair turning white from trauma.

God I love how creepy those undead were
