Fishy

This is one of my most favorite episodes of the entire show

Joey Quixote

Also, in case you haven't looked it up, the Amaya translation from this episode. Pulled from a Tumblr with the translations. - SCENE AT THE BREACH [General Amaya is standing atop the wall, watching the border through a monocular. She narrows her eyes, and turns to the solider standing behind her.] “I see elves at the border.” [points in the direction of the border] Soldier: “General Amaya, we’ve searched everywhere and there’s been no sign of the elves. I think it’s safe to conclude that the outpost on the Xadian side remains secret.” [Points] There, look! The signal! The outpost is secure.” [Amaya turns & looks again through the monocular. She narrows her eyes, and turns back to the soldier.] “No, something’s wrong. Set up a search party.” AMBUSH SCENE AT THE OUTPOST [The outpost soldier subtly signs “danger” to warn Amaya.]

Elijah, you may really enjoy this person's analysis of Amaya's ASL. It's an excellent discussion of how body language is vital to Amaya's specific grammar / body usage to communicate. Covers only Book 1 of TDP so no spoilers! https://youtu.be/YW-BET6FPmU?si=l832AADshb3Rlf_E I've linked 3rd analysis video because it is probably the most accessible for casual TDP / ASL viewers. The entire series is really interesting if you are into learning in-depth about ASL, want to garner even more appreciation for the work of the animators' of TDP, or y'know, just want to watch Amaya using her eyebrows to add expletives and sass in slow-motion.
