I thought about that a bit myself, but I think it's totally in character for her to wear a dress on a date. She's practical, but loves to be [Pretty]. A date is definitely a time to go for the pretty. I mean, think back to the effort she put into her first date.

Elaine likes dresses? She had that dress from Artemis that she could make look like it was on fire, which is on the cover of book 2. Then there was the mistweave dress she got from the elves which she wore for a long time (she did lack better options at the time to be fair)

I have utterly given up on trying to get vaguely anything resembling a correct skintone, boobs and boob armor, starry eyes in artwork, and a dozen other little details. It's just not worth the back and forth that's inevitably ignored
