Announcements and Art! README! (Patreon)

Hello all! Another month, another set of announcements!

First, most importantly: NOTHING IS CHANGING FOR CURRENT PATRONS.

Lemme repeat that.

IF YOU ARE A PATRON, NOTHING IS CHANGING FOR YOU TODAY OR IN THE FUTURE.

Ok, I wanted to put this part of the announcements at the bottom, but I guess I need to put it at the top.

One of my big regrets setting up and running BTDEM is my 'top tier' is $5. I look around at what most other stories are doing - Path of Ascension, He Who Fights With Monsters, Primal Hunter, The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound, Mark of the Fool, Chrysalis, Paranoid Mage, Defiance of the Fall, Millennial Mage, Mark of Time, Fates Parallel, Ave Xia Rem Y, Spellsword, Industrial Strength Magic... the list of stories with "max chapters" at $5 is SHORT. Salvos, Delve, TWI, BTDEM. Some authors who write multiple stories split the difference, and offer different stories at $5.

In short, $10 tier for the max tier is common. The day was always coming where I fixed this regret of mine, and it's here. It coincides nicely with me making the entirety of BTDEM free for people - patreon only kicks in once people have read over 1,000,000 words for free. I'm longer than Harry Potter on Royal Road alone! In September, I'm shuffling my tiers around to match what the industry standard is.

KEEP IN MIND. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO NEW PATRONS. EVERYONE SUBSCRIBED AT THE CURRENT TIER AND PRICE WILL REMAIN THERE AS LONG AS YOU WANT.

$5 Elaine Tier -> $10 Elaine Tier. THIS IS ONLY FOR NEW PEOPLE. EXISTING PATRONS ARE GRANDFATHERED INTO THE OLD PRICE FOREVER.

$10 Iona Tier -> $15 Iona Tier. FOR NEW PATRONS ONLY. THOSE OF YOU WANTING THE... BONUS... CHAPTERS AND ARE SUBSCRIBED AT $10 CAN STAY THERE FOREVER.

$15 Fenrir Tier (AKA the Cameo Tier) -> Merged with the $25 Auri Tier. IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED THE FENRIR TIER, AND YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN YOUR CAMEO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. 

I'm struggling to reach out to people who have signed up for the tier and get their cameos. That's part of why this is going up. I'm also tweaking it so that people who sign up for the tier need to actively reach out to me and ask for the cameo.

Dragon tier - No changes.

And one last reminder: THIS IS ONLY FOR NEW PATRONS. EXISTING PATRONS CAN REMAIN AT THEIR TIER AS LONG AS THEY LIKE.

BTDEM Book 2 has a new cover! The paperback is now out!

Web comic update! I've got my artists lined up, funding lined up, and tenatively, a scripter. Still waiting for final confirmation on the scripter, but the artists?

Well, you know them! They did the artwork above!

Fuyudust, artist of numerous BTDEM artwork, including all the sketches you see has prior experience drawing webcomics, and will be doing the black and white setting and layout.

Kart studios, artist of my covers, is doing the final artwork. I want you all to imagine a full BTDEM comic, with every bit of artwork at the same quality as "The Triumph of Sentinel Dawn", or the cover you see above.

Yeeeeeah.

And for the scriptor! The deal isn't set in stone, but you know him! The famous Jiwa, AKA Mecanimus, author of Journey of Black and Red and The Calamitous Bob! I'm super excited to have him - if we can finalize the deal! (I obtained his permission to mention I'm trying to recruit him btw!)

A last footnote: This month, a big chapter and the artwork dump is coming on August 31st. I know people tend to shed patron before the end of the month, but it's worth waiting this month until the last second, just for the last chapter and art.
