Here's some artwork for the X-Species Modular Rifle, which features a medium variant suitable for use by humans, along with the naked frame with no attachments which makes up the basis of the weapon. These are just the first of some of the weapon and technology artwork that's on the way and will be used for the upcoming Wiki project. Next up we'll be getting pictures of several variants used by auxiliaries and then some alien weapons!

Lord Winter

That is exactly how I envisioned them. Nice work.

Nice to see the universe expanding. Thanks Snekguy

Literally exactly how I thought they would look. Great descriptions and incredibly accurate illustrations. It just goes to show how immersive your writing truly is. Awesome work.

One of the things I am doing with my story is the use of a powerful suppressor system that makes the XMR sound like a pin drop when they fire (It can be interpreted that its internal mechanisms than necessarily something that is attached to the barrel). They are rare and hard to make which is the draw back to them. I also intend to going back with Under the Influence and renaming the pistols XMH for the handgun variant (I accidentally called the pistols the XMR variant). Boyd used an XMH on Hades fro example. I do have to take liberties on how powerful the XMR is against a Krell Riot Shield. I assume the shields can handle just about anything as long as its not a AT round or something used to destroy a vehicle/big bugs. Cool pictures. :)

A neat design, i just kept picturing it more angular/flat edged

Let me know if you can think of a way to silence a railgun. Suppressors work by redirecting propellant gasses, but railguns are powered electrically and so they have no propellant gasses to redirect.

Poor copper coils that are not shielded from atmosphere at all. As far as I know very strong magneses are used for rail guns nowadays and I don't think they're made from copper. Considering it's far future, copper would have been replaced by superconductor that works in plus temperatures.

It’s not a mag insert. It’s a mag well. Gun rant over.
