Fox ideas! (Patreon)

First a few tidbits of news, the animation is finished and up! Check for it on FA, FN or e621 if you haven't seen it yet.

The painting is on it's way, I just wanna take a day or two off after that animation so it'll be a little late. Stay tuned!

Now, the reason I'm here- I need ideas for a fox-ish character. If you've read the description of my latest animation you might know what's up, if you haven't well that's on you. :P Still, any interesting fox species, or other canid-esque creatures, that aren't represented in my roster yet? I could just randomly search around myself, but this way I get a feel for what y'all might like to see andalsodonthavetodoasmuchwork. Gimme ideas!

I would love to have an andromorph (cuntboy) arctic fox. The character roster would benefit from some intersex characters.

Ohh, well I have found that the colors light blue and yellow goes well together or have the were it's one color most of the way then on the tail tip It has two more colors or fades to the lighter version of the color like on my OC

My roster is light on those for a reason unfortunately, they're just not my thing I'm afraid. Just personal preference. :P

You've got a fennec and silver fox already... how about a marble fox? They're gorgeous!

So while I like arctic, black-phased silver and grey foxes, I think the nuances would look too close to your existing characters (Sy, etc). So how about something like this? https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42421297/ Or an African Wild Dog, yeah. Altho their pattern is a bit of a tall order. Edit: Oh! What if you did something a little wild. You know, like a tiger-striped fox. (Or maybe cloude leopard/snow leopard/jaguar).

Grey fox perhaps! They’re expert climbers, which might play into the character a bit, and they have a consistent, and recognizable pelage!

This may not be quite what you're looking for, but perhaps an albino fox/canid? White fur, ruby eyes - always love the way you animate your characters' eyes and the unique pink shade would be visually distinct. White fur would also contrast well with the brighter and more exotic colors of much of the main cast (and be a particularly sharp contrast to Mango, since they'd be sharing a similar body). Plus some colorful accessories or jewelry to "compensate". Or maybe she could be a bit of a neat freak because of the easily stained white fur? There'd be some room there for endearing character quirks that could be communicated easily without sound.

Or, to take it in a different direction, there are several dog breeds which would fit Mango's model while remaining visually distinct. Either a doberman or german shepherd would have a comparable head shape, pointed ears, and a distinctive fur pattern. And the breed associations as "tough" guard dog types could lend itself to a more tomboyish character, matching the base body's more athletic form (I think of Mango's running test animation).

You could make an enfield; a Fox with the forelegs swapped for bird feet. Not a huge departure in firm, but sharp talons combined with an insane grip is an amusing contrast with how soft and fluffy they are elsewhere. Especially the kinds of soft delicate things you usually have your characters handle.

What about something like an interdimensional fox, or canid creature that has magical abilities. Like levitation, change objects around her, spawn objects/creatures, maybe 'grow' things ;), hypnosis maybe?
