August seems to be turning into the month of votes, what with the community designed character and all. I hope you guys are enjoying it, or at least that it isn't getting too annoying. :P

So, I've been plucking away at the model and the rigging is getting very near complete, which means it's just about time to start making her actually look good. It's time to make some decisions on what she's going to look like!

The way I see it, we've got one of two main choices; realistic colours, or go wild and colourful colours. Let's see what the community thinks!

Feel free to suggest either your favorite brand of realistic ferret colours if that's your choice, or a fruit/flower/something colourful to base her colours on if you prefer that route. I haven't yet decided if I'll do a second vote or just pick something I like based on what wins here, but for now let's just see how this turns out.

Do natural colors include un-natural details like hair highlights?

ruaidri

There may be some minor flair added in yes, but for the most part I'll keep it fairly tame.

BobPBX

Thinking more steppe polecat than domestic, purple highlights?

DSG

Okay, then I like the classic ferret "mask". Flair in green if you decide to add it.

ruaidri

I'm pretty sure the mask is going to be almost mandatory no matter what I do if I want her to actually resemble a ferret in any way. x3 There's some heavily stylization going on here so it'll help a lot!

Eddie SanHusky

Deep red, not enough foxferrets to be had!

DSG

I should have specified the unibrow style mask then. There are many ways to mask a ferret but none quite so iconic :D

Spectre

If you're looking to be creative, you can still do so using natural palettes you might see on real animals. Tiger colors, zebra stripes, etc.

ruaidri

Fun idea! But I would personally put that under "going wild" with the colours. A ferret with tiger stripes would be awesome, but definitely a departure from reality. :P

I like realistic fur patterns and colors
