Like the animation, the painting may be delayed due to health stuff if  I'm not feeling up to it, but will be completed as soon as I'm better.

I do like the failed hunt. But it's also nice to see Hypno Lizards on the board again. I hope they make the cut again soon! They both sound fun, but Hypno Lizards and Nidhala sounds like it can only go right!

I get the feeling Failed Hunt gonna win everytime it's in the poll. I fucking love that scenario but it almost feels like a no brainer.

I feel like my vote (and lately, my prompt) is instantly wasted whenever I see Failed Hunt on the polls. Every time it pops up, it drowns out lots of really creative ideas from the rest of the community. I also feel like it's changed your art direction overall. I get that you've given some creative agency to your patrons as a reward for supporting you at higher tiers, but I'm still disappointed to see the old subjects you used to draw more often get shoved aside, not to mention all the cool ideas that get proposed and shot down most months. On top of that, I feel like we've been seeing a lot more *explicitly* non-con stuff since the patreon took off, as well as more straight up buttfucking instead of as much bondage art as in the past. The latter isn't a bad thing, but it's a bit of a shift. Of course, it's your business to decide your artistic direction, not mine or any of ours. I just hope you can remember the rest of us from time to time. :(

I'm not so sure- there were several months in a row where FH ideas were suggested but didn't win. Just depends on what's going on around it I think, though it does definitely tend to be a bit streaky, after it wins once it does so for a while. If it starts becoming the only thing we see winning for a long stretch again I'll do the same thing I did last time and put on a temporary hold, just for variety. But for now, we'll see!

Like he said, he's not going to let it take over the polls good as it is. It shows he is thinking of everyone. I'm sure you'll get your preference again in do time. It's clear he does try to give a little to everyone. Which is hard to do with this kind of thing. You could also join the high tier temporarily to express an idea you want specifically. Not trying to shoot you down or anything. It's good to express how you feel. But he definitely tries to get to everyone as far as I can tell since joining.

gale never wins anything ;-; its a shame the FH series always overshadows everything else, i agree with above, feels like theres no chance for any of the more creative things to win anymore.

I am in the highest tier. I wrote the above to show my frustration, and judging from other comments over the past few months, I'm not the only one. For me, it's frustrating to see so much emphasis on one topic when Ruaidri's art used to visit a wide variety of subjects. (To be fair, I also don't like the subject matter of Failed Hunt.) There are so many other poll subjects proposed by the community. I'd love to see more of them happen and every one of my votes for them has been voided whenever Failed Hunt comes up.

I hate to say it, but I think the Failed Hunt series should be put aside. Personally I’d prefer to see this month going to the runner-up. I understand lots of people love the series, but I’m not one of them. It’s repetitive tribal noncon gangbangs. You’ve always been really creative, Ru, but you can’t express so many delicious idea in yet another rehash of deer rape wolf slave. It takes over the entire vote and throws out so many good (and seasonal) ideas that would win otherwise. That’s why I think your museum series works - it’s lighthearted, eveveryone’s there of their own volition, the subjects are varied and so are the characters represented. Or all the standalone pics with Gale and Blue, and the rest of the gang. Now, don’t take this to mean that I’m not one for dark content every now and then (Dr. Rasa springs to mind), but I’m I personally here for the creative and perverted bondage and exhibitionistic tendencies.

It’s clear what the majority of the audience wants, though. I get it’s frustrating that you don’t get your way, but if he’s just going to invalidate the poll what’s the point of holding one in the first place?

It's ruaidri's choice, of course. But the way I see it, 1. it basically means that a large, but not majority, of ruaidri's patrons are supporting him to make content that they don't care for and 2. it's holding him back as an artist. I'll not mince words. "Repetitive tribal noncon gangbangs" is spot on. I mean, if he wants to be known as the tribal gangbang artist, sure, that's his call, but after awhile that's going to limit him. He should also expect that eventually the people not interested in that content will get tired of being outvoted continuously and leave. I'm certainly not going to keep shelling out $20/mo for the privilege of having my idea discarded. I want to support ruaidri, but I don't want to pay him to basically draw a bunch of wolves and does raping each other in the woods every month when there are so many other fantastic ideas that get passed up all the time. Like, I get it. We're not paying him to draw a specific thing. But there are so many things that some of us like that aren't getting drawn because it gets turned into the same picture every month.

I think Patreon ate my comment so I'm gonna post (some) of it again, sorry in advance for double posting. The thing about people leaving is that it creates a vicious cycle. People who want to see more wolf mutilation will join and stay. People who want to see literally anything else will lose hope and leave. The votes will become more one sided and less diverse. I have seen this happen many times in many projects/Patreons before, and it's a poisonous aspect of first past the post voting. Unfortunately other voting systems that fix this would create more work for Ru and hiatuses only kick the can down the road. Really, I'd just vote for a long multi-chapter comic of this setting just for everyone to get it out of their system. I mean there's only so much fappability in any given topic. Or maybe wolf genocide for imaginary crimes is a bottomless well of horny and we need a 20 minute long animation as well. Oh and uh, for the record, the wolves rape at 1/6th the rate of the deer so it's not really the same.

FH in general or you counting flips too? Because FH only needs 1/10th as many months to win. So you gonna wait for six months this time to call it or until wolves finally win one in six years?

Now, I can't be exactly sure of how Patreon counts its votes but I think what is happening here is folks in the "anything but FH" camp are splitting their vote between the non-FH options. Kinda weird because you can cast more than one vote, but spoiler effect is very strong. What I propose is -for all future votes emphasize that you can cast votes for more than one option as part of the standard blurb, just in case. -reduce next month's options to "FH" and "not FH" with the latter being anything Ru wants to paint that's not FH. This is the logical conclusion to first past the post voting, so let's just avoid a lot of trouble and skip to the end.

I dropped the $20 tier and went to the tip jar tier instead. Even my best ideas just aren't popular with most of the patrons (I checked on e6 and most of the works I really like are either commissions or quick/test projects, rarely the Patreon funded projects). My anim idea almost won this month but got outvoted by generic sex, so that's not a great sign for me. I'll just have to put in the time to model and animate my ideas myself. I'm putting the rest of the money towards other folks who align more with what I like to see. Good luck with the next poll everyone.
