A little Birb update (Patreon)

It looks like this month's animation is going to feature the birb, so I thought I'd swing by his model and give it a few little tweaks and updates. The foot-ribbons have become a pretty core part of his character at this point, so it seemed like it was about time to get those in there, and I also made him his bandana while I was at it. Since I did that little sketch of Sy painting his talons pink a while back, I decided to work that in as well.

I also decided to tweak his wings a touch, hoping to just make them look a little better, but that instead became a multi-day battle with the bastards. I wanted to find a way of rendering them so they blended in with the body better, but I couldn't come up with anything that wouldn't dramatically compromise their flexibility, they need to be able to interact with objects in a fairly realistic way or it'll look like a disaster- I can't really let these be as stiff as the wings on my other characters. In the end I just came back to what I already had, but rebuilt the mechanics a little to hopefully help them behave better, and adjusted the shader to blend them in as best I can.

I think I lack the technical knowledge to really nail what I want for his wings at this stage, but hopefully they're at least a touch better.

Anyway, after I was done with that I went in and made a few anatomical tweaks, and this is what we're left with. I think he's looking alright over all!

Gonna make a few final tweaks to his rigging to make him a little easier to animate, and then strap him into a breeding mount and stuff him full of dragon. Should be fun. :D
