Finished up the majority of the rigging! There are lots of tweaks and improvement still to be made- some rigging needs tweaking to fix strange deformations, I want to give those arms and legs scales and plates a once-over to improve their look a touch, hits bits need to be a bit darker... still a small list of things to do, but he should be done and ready for animation within a day or two. It's going to be fun doing horrible things to this fella. :D

Chillum

horrible things ?? look at his face he is really looking forward to it and I'm looking forward to seeing it, it's weird to say that but it looks really really good

I don't think it's a weird thing to say, the whole reason I'm here is to make things you guys want to see! :P

Pojodan

What a lovely birb! The wings look great! Awesome work, as always :9

Ferric

What a cutie! I always love seeing more avians from you!

Jykinturah

Oh my gosh the wings fold, the wings fold! I can't even fathom how much intricacy went into making them behave correctly!

ruaidri

Virtually none. I basically cheated. :P I started out trying to control every individual feather so they could fold up properly, but I couldn't get the hang of the rigging. So instead their shape is controlled by a bigger object that sort of envelops the wings and I move that around instead- this method is much much easier to control, but less flexible; I can't really move an individual feather for example, I can only move big portions of the wing at once, and they also don't "fold" shut so much as... "squish"? You can definitely see it when they're in motion if you're looking for it and the effect isn't quite as nice as I'd like, but it's not so noticeable as to be distracting I think, and that will have to do for now until I get better at rigging.

Shhhh don't sell yourself short! I think even the 'easy' way you ended up doing it is still super creative and unique!
