Podcast got a bit heavy this week. Just want you to know that I’ve been a fan of your work since you wrote for destructoid. We don’t even like the same kind of games but I very much enjoyed your writing style. I’ve been a fan of yours all these years and just think that you’re a great person. You even challenged my conception of trans people when years ago you introduced me to Laura’s work as well, as I grew up in a very Christian setting. Just wanted to let you know that I love you guys, and I hope things get better for everyone. Trans rights.

Well said Steph. Well said. Trans rights are human rights.

It is not at all surprising that the best Sonic games are the 2D games: they focused on a concept and iterated on it over about half a dozen games (including the Game Gear and Sega CD entries here) over a period of about four years. The end result of that focus is one of the best platformers ever: Sonic and Knuckles. Since then, as we all know, they've reinvented the wheel on average every other year for 25 years. Sonic is a great series, but it's a shame it's developed by Sonic Team.

Now if only they could get back to credible journalism from circa 2016

It's been too long since O'Houlihan checked in. Hope the street art business down the old war memorial is still raking in enough cash to keep the farm afloat.
