Dear Jim, Gavin, and Laura, who I all deeply adore: YARS' REVENGE! YAR'S REVENGE! YAR'S FUCKING FUCK REVENGE! Ahem. Atari still owns Yars' Revenge. In fact (cue annoying nerd trivia voice), Yars' Revenge is so named because the bigwig at Atari at the time was named Ray, which backwards is Yar. It is quite possibly the greatest Atari game of all time, and is a compelling reason to purchase one of those mini-console-thingies, or Atari Vault. It is amazing and still fun, at least if you're 46 and have an occasional hard time letting go of the past, like, um, me. Seriously, Yars' Revenge, y'all. (The inner 12-year old who spent lots of free time reading games magazines in 1983 was CRINGING at the mention of Pac-Man and Space Invaders as Atari properties. I think I reread the Atari catalog a billion times. I had a subscription to Atari Age. I even still like the joystick, and have a Raspberry Pi emulator setup with a working joystick.) (I might have become that old man who says, "You kids will NEVER understand comics until you spend time reading Barney Google!" Also, Barney Google is a good comic.) Thanks, and Yars' Revenge, Me. (And thank God for you all.)

as magical and amazing as that game is that is not going to sell a console. I honestly would be more interested in a documentary on that game and the developer than another version of that game again.
