I remember these 2 hosts when they did the OG Weekly Idol.

Chad Williams

yeah the thing u were talking about like i feel like the grown idols anyways are adults they know what theyre doing i only find a problem with the sexualization when its underage idols like ive or something but a dreamcatcher wjsn theyre grown adults and they do plenty of this stuff on non scripted shows so i feel like for them the adults if theyre confident in their sexuality then let them be fans forget these arent innocent children who need to be shielded I'm not calling them ho*s or something but theyre normal adults at the end of the day and fans on twitter or sns act like they're all innocent minded virgins again if theyre being forced into doing stuff theyre uncomfortable with thats another thing but yeah fans online are annoying i feel like its a bunch of teenagers when i see it sometimes but theyre probably immature grownups too unfortunately as a 23 year old guy seeing people shame these idols mainly netizens when they act sexy is so annoying because all my female friends act way worse around me sometimes and i feel like most people my age especially in college here in america anyways act way worse not to say anything bad about them of course theyre young and enjoying themselves but the way idols get called such horrible things for such little sexy things they do is annoying just let them live i wish idols could be more natural and expressive in all aspects

Ok, so you seem a little confused about what the problem people had with these hosts was, the main issue people had was that they weren't able to see the line between funny bit and abusive behavior and crossed that line on quite a few occasions. It wasn't every episode but it was enough that people saw a pattern. I hope that helps this was for the most part an enjoyable reaction, just the parts where you kept trying to figure out what peoples problem was without a clear understanding of the situation was a little frustrating.

It was awesome to see how much fun you had with this, glad you enjoyed it 😂 I've watched this episode many times haha, definitely one of the best variety eps I've seen. I have also been thinking that I need to go back and watch other Idol Room episodes, there's still a ton I haven't seen. I really don't enough about the situation with the hosts to comment, but I really do love the games and the atmosphere they create on this show as a whole. Some interesting takes in here too, I agreed with you for the most part. I hadn't really thought about why we don't see games like this anymore, but I can see where you were coming from. I think the games in Idol Room as a whole were generally just more entertaining than what Weekly Idol does today, though I do still enjoy those Weekly Idol eps. Also, in terms of WJSN: Feel free to talk about how perfect Dawon is as much as you want, I'll never get tired of it 😂 She's usually shy/quiet when it comes to variety shows like this, but whenever she's performing it's a completely different story 🔥 I'm also glad you got to see how great Soobin is in variety through this episode, since she was pretty reserved on Queendom. WJSN are my favourite group to watch in variety - As a whole they're always so comfortable and hilarious, but I'd say Eunseo, Dayoung and Soobin in particular are the chaotic variety queens 😂

This was so freaking fun omg. I’ve rly come to absolutely adore the wjsn girls after queendom. They rly are variety queens. Also I loveeee the hosts although I knew them first through weekly idol and was kinda sad too that they’re no longer around. Hyung don especially I’ve seen on other variety shows and he seems like a truly likeable guy :( (Btw fun fact the theme song for idol room is composed by Hui ! They alternate theme songs with each episode with the other one having been composed by Soyeon 😀)

I really enjoyed this! I've seen the LOONA episode, but that's about it, I think. I may need to go back and look up who's been on there. My favorites out of the currently running shows are probably Mobidic and Seezn's Idol Market, feels like they let the idols take the reigns a bit more. I felt attacked in the beginning there, holy shit 💀 Steph, this was the whole point, wasn't it? 🤣 Soobin's the MVP here for me though, what a star. One of my Korean professors told us that hearing someone use the wrong politeness level or dropping honorifics is like nails-on-chalkboard-level grating to a lot of Koreans, so those yaja time games are always hilarious. Kind of wish they went on longer, like a running thing throughout the show. And yeah, the fact that ㅓ and ㅜ are both regularly romanized to "u" is just a mess. Would be much easier for everyone if ㅓ was strictly "eo" and ㅜ was strictly "u", but why would we keep things simple? 🙄 Romanization is stupid.

I have yet to see any of that whatsoever after maybe 8-10 episodes of them I've watched. But maybe I will eventually 🤷‍♂️

if you ever watch twice on weekly idol, you'll notice it. one of the main things i can remember being upset with was when they had a segment where they'd bash idols over the head with a toy hammer (specifically with twice and blackpink) ... bro, it was too much. like using all your strength, even when it's a toy? they also made a few really weird comments when mamamoo were on there (specifically toward hwasa), and just said some awful things when monsta x was there. but anyway! lol

Steph M

The point was mainly *that* section at the beginning, Soobin's chaos, and Eunseo's persistence in the yoga challenge 😂 What a group

Awesome reaction! I can’t remember the last time I laughed this hard 🤣👍 I totally agree about the double standards between female and male idols. You see people sexualizing minor male artist and you barely see anyone talk about it (you do see discourse, but compared to female idols, it’s nearly nonexistent)

I enjoyed this one immensely. I didn't know anything about WJSN before Queendom, now I can't get enough of their personalities. Is it wierd to enjoy a group's music more because you like them as people?

KpopPrince

That is literally kpop to me haha. I enjoy the personality aspect of it and it only elevates the music

if youre ever interested, theres an idol room episode with ptg + idle where they first show their original logo songs!

so about the whole sexualizing thing i both agree and disagree! i think hating on the mcs make no sense because what they do with the male idols is wayyyyy more intense (the legendary sexy dance battle between infinite LMFAO) and it doesnt come off as creepy imo, more like facilitating fan service. that said, the way a lot of fans sexualize idol can be EXTREMELY creepy so i understand the worry as well. its not just a simple recognition that theyre hot but levels beyond that that isnt fit for a patreon discussion so i think a lot of fans are wary of having corners like this, and i generally agree with it. fun fact, what soobin said wasn't "sensual." 퇴폐 refers to that kind of darker, rough around the edges, would probably look good smoking a cigarette in a black and white filter look, so people like kristen stewart, kai, wooseok, etc. which... soobin obviously is not LMFAO.

I remember watching this and realizing after that Exy is indeed not the oldest. Even Bona is older than her lol That was probably a mistranslation, but most leaders are the oldest so it would've made sense And ah, I think most people don't expect this but savage-line is definitely Soobin, Luda, and Bona. The more you see of them the more you'll see it. They really are just out here taking shots every chance they get lol WJSN is always so crazy, I hope you do more variety content from them!
