I'm....always looking for an excuse to use that burgundy Posca Pen. So here is a sketch with a red haired Sedine.

I really like that hue. But...there is something wrong with the pen (or the ink....perhaps the particular batch?) No matter how much I shake it and push new ink into the tip, it still turns out streaky. I need to apply another coat to get it somewhat even. Which is kinda annoying for such a dark color. I mean, all the lighter colors apply pretty evenly, even with just one coat. But this one....no deal for the peanut squeal :(

I still like the color tho.

For the BG I used some old watercolor lead....sticks(?) I got from Germany a decade ago (OMG, I'm getting old XD) They are like watercolor pencils but thicker and without the wood parts. I thought they were kinda cool so I bought them years ago and....never used them for anything. Although that was before I found out about watercolor tank brushes. Otherwise I would've done a lot more with that medium, I think.

I have mixed feelings about them because, despite that they dissolve in water....they also kinda don't. As you can see, they leave some streaks there. For this particular sketch it's not really a problem. I mean, looks kinda like some 80's-90's design. So I'm cool with it. But if those pens...leads....are good for other stuff/effects....I gotta find out ^^"

Also, I try to improve my inking a bit. For this sketch I used a Sepia brush pen and added some hatching. Nothing big. But Hubby gave me some critic that I should try to add more texture to my artwork, no matter if pencil drawings or inks. So, yeah, here I go ^^

I hope you like it

I love the color and you're right, the background has an 80s/90s vibe to it.

Amazing what you can do. It looks great and until I read your comments, I didn't notice the streaks.
