Yandere Simulator is set in a fictional school named Akademi Academy, which is in a fictional town named Buraza Town, which is nearby another fictional town named Shisuta Town. Initially, I imagined these towns being located in the mountains to the west of Tokyo. Later, I imagined them being located on the coast of a small peninsula to the southeast of Tokyo. But, occasionally, I consider a third potential location for the school and the two towns: an island south of Tokyo. It would be located somewhere in or nearby the mouth of Tokyo Bay.

Although it's kind of cool to imagine Saikou Corp creating an artificial island using advanced landscaping techniques, I don't think they could build an entire mountain range. So, the island would probably have to be a pre-existing island, rather than a man-made one.

A talented artist was generous enough to create concept art of the potential island, and I'd like to share it with you, along with a top-down map of the island!

The artist took some creative liberties and added a few details to the map that are very cool ideas, but might not be 100% lore-friendly. I'll elaborate on what here is canon and what might not really get to become canon. But, first, I'll need to explain a few things about the lore of Yandere Simulator:

Ichiko Saikou (the aunt of Megami Saikou) was obsessed with the concept of "furusato" - a word that refers to the Japanese countryside. To clarify, it's not the literal word for "countryside"; it's more of a cultural concept. "Furusato" is a poetic, romantic, nostalgic word that invokes the specific "feeling" of the peaceful Japanese countryside, and the traditional way of life that goes along with it. Ichicko was obsessed with the "furusato" aesthetic, and longed to live in the countryside rather than the city.

For various lore/plot reasons that are explained in Ichiko's profile on the Characters page of the official website, Saisho Saikou (the grandfather of Megami Saikou) decided to build an academy tailored to his daughter's exact tastes. However, even a man as rich as Saisho Saikou wouldn't buy an entire island just to build a single school there. If he actually did something as extreme as buying an entire island, he would be doing it because the island would be a long-term investment and would serve multiple purposes to both him and Saikou Corp. This is where the artist's suggestions came in:

1. The artist proposed that Saikou Corp would open a mountain resort and a beach resort on the island. It's not completely out of the question; it's reasonable to suggest that Saikou Corp would want to make the absolute most of the land they purchased. However, Saikou Corp is a technology company, and usually doesn't start random business that are unrelated to technology, so I'm not sure about this one.

2. You'll notice a label on the map denoting the presence of a "Saikou Laboratory." While it's certainly very fun to imagine a hidden secret laboratory where Saikou Corp does top-secret experiments, I never pictured them conducting any sort of fun operations this close to Buraza and Shisuta. Don't get the wrong idea, though; I'm not confirming - nor am I denying - the existence of a secret Saikou laboratory, as fun as it would be to do so.

3. You might be curious to know what Megami is doing while she's away from Akademi. The answer is that she's living on a cruise ship! More information about that can be found here. Anyway, I always imagined Megami's cruise ship to be located in the middle of Tokyo Bay. It probably wouldn't be located this close to the island, but there it is on the map, anyway.

Hopefully, those 3 pieces of information help you to understand what is and isn't canon about this top-down map! Even though not every detail of the map is 100% lore-friendly, I really appreciate this map, and I hope that you enjoy it, too!

But how are students getting to school at every day basses? Ok some are living on island neighborhood like Ayano, Osana, Horuda. But everyone else? Are they coming to school on ship's or airplanes? Every day or something? Or they so rich that they rent a place to live for a school year, is this THAT prestigious? Bet the rent on that island is not cheap. Even if so how many rich children is there in this universe for school to operate on normal stable bases in how many years? Does school provide you with a place to live? That iiiis what universities do but thay are definitely not getting a separate house or maybe even a room. This is to much compress when you think about it for a while...

I imagined many of the homes in Buzara Town and Shisuta Town as "student housing" for anyone attending Akademi. For others, a high-speed train travels from Tokyo to Akademi very quickly. Students ride the train for free. It's a prestigious school marketed to the rich; people who could actually afford to pay the steep admission fee that grants all of these amenities. For these reasons, admission fees to the school were very high for many years, although they were recently dropped sharply. You can opt out of the student housing to pay a lower admission fee, etc.

I noticed what you did with the map with a general heart shape,(unless this is based off of a real island which then I sound like an idiot) there is a line that goes through it making it look like a cracked heart

I really like the idea of a laboratory that we could maybe explore, it's sound interesting and...fun !
