The poll for the episode after next is still open, I figure I'll keep that up for a bit. But the actual next episode is going to be about out of bounds content in Dark Souls 2!

Originally it was going to be both about the world design / map placement AND out of bounds content, since the two topics have some overlap and I thought it would make sense to do both at the same time.

But after writing almost 5 pages of script, something about the flow of the episode felt a bit off. A lot of criticisms / critiques about the world layout and its related issues, while also trying to promise that the whole episode wasn't going to be negative and that there's cool/ fun things to show later on.

It felt to me like people who wanted to see fun/ weird OoB stuff might have a "when are we getting to the fireworks factory?" moment.  I'm certainly not shy to be honest about any criticisms of the games I may have, but since I'm not a hater of Dark Souls 2, coming out with more criticisms right after talking about Soul Memory made me concerned that DaS2 fans might expect just a bunch of nitpicking from me. When really I'm eventually going to get to weird crap like Sin and Gravestones and those should all have the same kind of tone as my Dark Souls 1 videos.

So instead I started scripting one that just jumps right into an OoB showcase and I'm liking it a lot more already!

Even after splitting the episode up though, I'm finding I wasn't crazy to originally try and merge the topics. Showcasing distant things in Majula, for example, is relevant to both an OoB demonstration and also a world layout discussion. In the end I want both episodes to feel complete and that I also don't retread the same stuff when I get to the second episode.

I'm *clearly* overthinking it, but these are the sort of considerations happening nonetheless. I'm now 2.5 pages into the OoB script and I think people are going to find it interesting!

And also, when I do get to the World Layout episode, I should hope it'll still be interesting even if you're a fan of the game and don't want to hear just the usual complaints. The criticisms should be intermixed with neat demonstrations still. :)

While I wouldn't mind a super long episode talking about these topics, I feel splitting them into two is a better idea overall. Each episode can have it's own breathing room and such Also I know it doesn't excuse much with the game, but I can't help feel that Dark Souls 2 is very dreamlike in it's design and world layout, which is one way I interprate a lot of the 'errors' of the world lol

How long do you think each episode will be? I'm courious since I wonder how much could be said about the placement of the world

Oh absolutely. I'll be addressing the dreamlike/ not-being-fully-conscious-for-the-whole-journey interpretation because I feel like that interpretation works in some locations better than others. :)

I'm not sure! It's hard to predict before the scripts are completed but I would expect each to be at least 20 minutes long. I actually have quite a bit to say and show about the world layout!
