Hello Pledge Hammers!

It's that time, once again, for you to cast your votes for which PPV we'll review for WrestleRamble Extra in January. Last year it was Wrestle Kingdom 10, and given that Wrestle Kingdom 13 has just finished I can imagine the two WK suggestions will do well this month. Vote below!

WWF Royal Rumble 1989 (suggested by David Humphries)

It's the first PPV version of the Royal Rumble - and what a classic it is. Also a long one at over an hour in length. Also features the 27th entrant winning...

WWF Royal Rumble 1992 (suggested by Phil Stopford)

Yep. Perhaps the best Rumble of all-time, Ric Flair goes from coast to coast to win the WWF Championship with some classic Bobby Heenan commentary. A true marvel in the Rumble landscape.

WWF Royal Rumble 1998 (suggested by Laura)

Do you like Mick Foley? Do you like Steve Austin? Then you will like Royal Rumble 1998! The show also features THAT Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker Casket Match...

WWF Royal Rumble 1999 (suggested by Kenneth Houston)

If you watched Beyond The Mat with us at the Prince Charles Cinema last year, you will know what to expect from this show. I'm not sure Mick Foley remembers it though. Also features Vince McMahon in the Rumble! An absolute classic Vince Russo Attitude Era PPV.

WWF Royal Rumble 2000 (suggested by Lendell Brenson)

I don't want to sway votes, but I ADORE this Rumble. It's not the best by any stretch of the imagination, but I have such fond memories of it. It also features that incredible Triple H vs. Cactus Jack street fight. Possibly the best Rumble Championship match of all-time.

WWF Royal Rumble 2001 (suggested by Chris Merryman)

This might be the most star-studded Rumble of all-time, and it also features Triple H vs. Kurt Angle on the undercard and a brilliant ladder match between Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit.

WWE Royal Rumble 2002 (suggested by Chris Jenkins)

It's the first Rumble in a post WCW era - so expect to see some of the Alliance stars you forgot were still employed by the company! And a lot of Triple H. Also on the card, Chris Jericho defends his Undisputed Championship against The Rock.

WWE Royal Rumble 2003 (suggested by Colin MacLean)

This is a very interesting Rumble as it's the first in a brand split era and it's in a time without some of the big Attitude Era stars. But we do have Scott Steiner! So there's always that.

WWE Royal Rumble 2004 (suggested by DAAAAN!)

Nope, can't remember who won this Rumble. Can't remember at all...

WWE Royal Rumble 2005 (suggested by Mark Roberts)

Yep, it's that Royal Rumble. You know the one. Where they botch the ending and Vince McMahon tries to fix it and ends up tearing both quads. What an ending!

WWE New Year's Revolution 2006 (suggested by Michael Mislyan)

It's not a Royal Rumble show! Instead it's a Raw branded show with a strange Elimination Chamber where Carlito and Chris Masters somehow outlast Kurt Angle, Kane and Shawn Michaels. Strange. Also Edge becomes the first man to cash in Money in the Bank. So that's fun!

WWE New Year's Revolution 2007 (suggested by Noah Enigma)

Oh no! A PPV with 2007 era D-Generation X!! AAAAAHHH! With that said, there is a great WWE Championship match between John Cena and Umaga.

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 9 (suggested by Sean Blanford)

Our first of two New Japan suggestions, and this one is a classic! Featuring a main event of Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada, and amazing matches between Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kota Ibushi, AJ Styles vs. Tetsuya Naito and more.

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11 (suggested by Jack VanFleet)

This, for many people, was their first exposure to Kenny Omega and the world of New Japan Pro Wrestling - featuring THAT six star match between Okada and Omega, as well as some other great wrestling including Naito vs. Tanahashi, Hiroki Goto vs. Katsuyori Shibata and Hiromu Takahashi vs. KUSHIDA. Undisputed Era also implodes as Adam Cole takes on Kyle O'Reilly, and we've got Cody vs. Juice Robinson. Yeah, a couple of years ago!

Phil Stopford

It's most definitely not the best. 2001 and 1992 are way better shows and the two best Rumbles ever.

Sean Blanford

Figures I picked the wrong WK 😂

Martin Harman

My first vote as a pledge hammer! RR 2005 for the botched ending for me!

Alex Baker

Got to be 2000 all the way. Good god... Thumb tacks...!

Well Phil I'd argue that while the rumble match itself isn't as good as the two you mentioned (although still a very good match in it's own right) as an entire ppv the 2000 edition is the best overall.

Scott Howard The Duck

WK 11 mostly because I just want to here Luke struggle to call anything just "Fine" on that show ;)

LUKE: I do adore it, but RR01 is my favourite match. The 2000 Rumble match isn't that great in fairness. I just love it for nostalgia. The whole PPV is worth watching for the title match, though.

Phil Stopford

And the current head writer of SmackDown Live clinging on to the bottom rope for about half an hour to avoid being eliminated.

Chris Merryman

While I am voting for 2001 this year because it's seriously the best rumble match I really want to hear them review 2004 some year as a lot of people wouldn't touch it especially not WWE

Phil Stopford

Gal, I'd disagree. HHH v Cactus is a cracking match, and the table match was obviously good, but the Rumble was decent for me at best. 1992 also has Mean Gene Okerlund all over it.... Yes, I went there. He was awesome!

Lorenzo Haynes

1998. I just watched it for the first time. I cringed during the rumble match at all those chair shots to the head.

Phil Stopford

Cactus and Funk? Yeah, it's not great viewing is it. Rock made it worse a year later too.
