TNA - where wrestling still matters! Sort of. It's an all X-Division show... even though Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff want to kill the X-Division. Abyss is the champion, and Brian Kendrick wants to save the belt. Or something like that. Also on the show, Rob Van Dam battles long-time rival Jerry Lynn, Shark Boy & Eric Young take on NOT THE YOUNG BUCKS, and AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels are in the main event in a match that can certainly be called "a match".

Side note, Luke says this PPV took place on July 11th 2011, when it actually took place on July 10th 2011. Stupid notes.

I was never a diehard TNA'er but the Six Sided ring was a very unique thing with TNA, when "THEY" changed it, I was pissed off too. #pushdesmondwolfe

OMG yes about Mark Haskins. Never saw him wrestle before ROH in London. I'm a fan now!

Good review, but I want to clear some things up about the masked wrestlers. Kaz was the original Suicide, but was replaced by Daniels due to injury. Suicide (later renamed Manik, to avoid controversy) has also been played by TJP, Kiyoshi, Austin Aries, Homicide, Caleb Konley and (not confirmed, but legend has it) Kazuchika Okada, if you can believe that. Amazing Red played the yellow luchador known as Sangriento. TNA were doing nothing with Red, but wanted a luchador character when WWE signed the original Sin Cara (before all the problems started). TNA claimed Sangriento was a "world famous" luchador, despite there being no record of him wrestling for any promotion anywhere before TNA. What a waste of Red!

A great ultimate X match to watch is from bond for glory 2009: Suicide vs amazing red vs Daniels vs homicide vs the motor city machine guns. https://youtu.be/bOqpEbdDjd8

I'm sorry Oli I have to disagree Lynn has always been a bigger star than RVD Lynn has always had good matches whereas RVD is only good when he's not stoned.

Actually Luke it was 2002 when the first X-Divsion championship match took place.

I don't understand Luke's love for Raven, even at his best in ECW Rob Van Dam was in that company and was way cooler

LUKE: Amazing! Thanks for the clarification. I have no memory of Sangriento, but I wasn't watching it week to week by this point.

wrestletalk

LUKE: I misspoke. I get confused because I started watching TNA in 2004 and they often pretended the first two years never happened. It "started again" when they changed the PPV model.

Hey no worries we all get things muddled occasionally I know I do and your right for some reason until Ultimate X became a thing TNA really didn't crae about the X-Division.

T-Shirts aside, Raven was just so different at the time too. Look at the WWF with binmen, pig farmers, blue bloods and Goons. Raven was a breath of fresh air. He was "attitude era" way before it happened. He give ECW a big part of that different Identify that a lot of people were looking for at the time, and remember that he was Johnny Polo in WWF in 1993-1994
