I'm not totally satisfied with the last panel but this was due yesterday and I gotta move on. I was hoping to finish this page on stream today but I was way more tired from hiking yesterday than I thought I would be @_@

i don’t know what it is, but there’s something about these shots of talita just going about her daily routine that i find strangely soothing. ever since i read the preview page for this part i always think about it when i do my own chores n stuff. i’ll vacuum and be like. wow! just like talita :)

It has been centuries and technology does not seem to have advanced. My guess is that the bug ferrets have been using their power to stifle innovation to control the other species of sophonts.

the radio reminds me of White Noise

I love the nondiegetic [I think that's the word for show not tell in visual media?] worldbuilding in these panels. Big lady with extra limbs? You're gonna need more than one washer to keep on top of laundry. And does she have the scent free detergent to keep from getting exposed to something that might make her sick?

Jay Eaton

Non-diagetic I think means stuff that appears in the work that isn't "literally" there; like the background music in movies or the motion lines, speech bubbles, and sound effect text in comics. I think "show not tell" applies to visual media too, just that "telling" is usually dialog and exposition (Like the podcast here is certianly expositional, lmao) Talita has scent free to avoid accidentally exposing herself to chemicals that might hurt her, but also artificial scents that humans like don't always smell appealing...

That or it would just be an unreasonable amount of work to fully realistically flesh all that out for not much of a point.

How is she both working on leg and AND skipping it! Those back legs are weedy lol jk

Why do the speech bubbles have two tails?

I like her socks :'D I never even thought about her wearing them but it makes sense

man I love these more mundane panels, I always find they add grounding to a story.

To show they aren’t coming from a specific labeled audio source, perhaps, and also that they’re coming from two different voices! There’s two people on the radio, after all

There’s lots of modern stuff that we use daily that hasn’t drastically changed in design since their invention, sometimes even over centuries! Refrigerators, electric ovens, brooms, vacuums, pens, household washing machines, I could go on.

Jay Eaton

They are generic spikes to show that it's recorded/playing over speakers. If it's confusing I should probably tweak it a little.

David Helmer

I've usually seen it done with multiple spikes ringing the bubble. Only two was confusing.

Talita also talks back to her podcasts... relatable queen
