Idrisah!!! She's on the job, talking to the temps who don't speak Jovian English. Also Ohwitiil, on the job bullying a coworker about 65 times their size.

Love all the little details, especially on the avian outfits and office chairs! (Poor Talita and her adorable startle reflex.) Do some avians pick human-similar pronouns/identities when they interact with humans, like how Idrisah identifies herself as a bright for work?

Jay Eaton

Sometimes-- Jovian English is more grammatically flexible with gender than Tiiliitian; human speakers usually presume aliens as being non-gendered until they pick a pronoun. Most avians and bug ferrets don't bother picking because they don't relate to typical human gender dynamics. (Silly lore factoid: Martian English prefers xe/xem/xyr neutral pronouns for aliens over they/them/their)

Idk they're like a frail old person, not very suitable for demolishing precarious structures built by green pigs

Is Idrisah using the 'interpretor-ese' you described before here? It's really neat; what purpose do the letters/numbers like 'C3' and 'P' serve? Seconding Boyd on the details and Talita; her waving is really cute too. Also loving how tiny Ohwitiil is next to her. Her interacting with scuds much later in the comic should be really fun.

The weird initials like C3 and T-2 are used to quickly classify words with a meaning that English doesn't have, like gendered 'you' and 'I' pronouns, or adding a specific tense to a verb that would otherwise take multiple English words to describe. It's kind of like she's talking in a syntactic diagram of a Tiiliitian sentence.
