Almost Real 3 Thumbnails (Patreon)

I'm collaborating with botanist and writer Quill Garsay (better known as botanyshitposts.tumblr.com) for the third volume of Almost Real: A Speculative Biology Zine. Bloodwort are a carnivorous species of Isoetes (an ancient lineage of plants in the Lycopsid clade) with needle sharp blades strengthened by silica. Their transparent glass leaves lacerate fish and any other unfortunate animals that run into them, letting their blood into the water for the Bloodwort to absorb.

It looks rather naked without the flavor text, but I was going for a B-movie poster aesthetic.
