Some of the most common weapons in scud world history are leg and foot blades. Although hooks and swords can be held with their dexterous tentacles, the legs are stronger, and less fleshy and venerable. Scud fights, especially on dry land, look at lot like cockfights. Even if unarmed, a scud will first attempt to defend or attack with their leg claws.

Blades intended for scud-to-scud combat or "arthropod" hunting are often curved inwards. This is so when the blade is dragged across a carapace, the hook can catch on and dig under the plate edges.
